From October 22nd to 29th the SNHU Sustainability Week will take place, during which several events will be organized. The environmental club organizes events as part of the Sustainability Week.
Recent events organized by the Environmental Club include planting trees, planting windows in Lincoln and Conway's apartments, and attending Homecoming.
During the tree planting, five mulberries were planted near the dining room and Tuckerman Hall Road. The tree planting event was organized to raise awareness of sustainability efforts. The event was attended by SNHU President Paul LeBlanc, who helped plant the trees.
The Planters event took place at Lincoln and Conway's apartments. The boxes were planted last spring and are now showing initial progress.
The Homecoming graphic featured invasive species like Burning Bush, Japanese Berberry, and Oriental Bittersweet and provided information and fun facts about them.
Ruby Bratcher ('24), vice president of the environmental club, reviewed the club's October events.
On October 22nd they will organize a cleanup at Livingston Park in Manchester from 1pm to 3pm in partnership with the Chandler Centre. Information about the event, transportation and meeting point will be provided to students prior to the event.
Other Sustainability Week events include a Microsoft Teams kickoff event on October 24 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m
Several events are expected to take place on October 25th. First, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the "Learn and enjoy how a sustainable snack can be tasty and good for the environment" will take place in the dining room. This event also takes place every fourth Monday of the month from 1 to 2 p.m
The other two events on October 25 are Microsoft Teams events. The first, How to Engage Others in Caring for Stakeholder Engagement for Organizational Change, will take place from 12pm to 1pm, and the second, Simply Sustainable: 10 Simple Steps to Improve the Environment, will take place from 3pm to 4pm
On October 26, Lunch and Learn Green Home Cleaning Tips: You Can Be Clean and Go Green! » Microsoft Teams Event from 11am to 12pm Same day from 2pm to 4pm Invasive Species Removal at the SNHU Arboretum. Located near Gustafson, the Arboretum is accessible to travelers and residents who wish to join the effort.
Lunch and Learn at Millard: Bring Nature Home, Make Your Own Terrarium, and Learn Simple Ways to Incorporate Nature with Mental Well-Being on October 27 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. There is a limited number of places available for this event, with a limit of 25 participants. RSVP is available via Sustainability@snhu.edu
Finally, on October 29th, the "Sale of Bric et Broc" will take place from 8am to 12pm in the upper and lower areas of the SETA annex.

Students interested in sustainability and environmental protection efforts may attend the environmental club meetings, which are held in Robert Frost Room 321 at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesdays. Updates on club events can be found on flyers around campus, as well as on his Instagram: @snhuenvironmentalclub_. In addition, students can email the club at environmentclub@snhu.edu if they have additional questions or would like to be added to the mailing list.
