Cleaning the house is not everyone's favorite, but a family business in Traverse City is taking the leap.
In their housekeeping they used not only organic products, but also associated with non-profit cleaners , to offer women who are undergoing cancer treatment, a free cleaning.
Owner Melissa Smith says they are doing this charitable service to improve women's lives and struggles.
"Not only do they feel good, they come back from chemotherapy and we just want to make sure everything is clean for them in a healthy and comfortable environment," he says.
The cleaning service specializes in apartments and holiday apartments. And the organic products they use are essential oils, an allusion to nature and their own health.
"My daughter and I have had asthma for many years and, as you know, I started with a cleaning company and I used a bleach, I came home with a feeling of discomfort," she says. Smith "So we decided to use essential oils and have great organic products and all the tips and tricks you can get with vegetable oils."
Smith says the family business has a personal touch and recently moved to a new location on Union Street.
"Always rent," she says. "We've broken everything, we've just moved to a new location on Union Street, and since then we've moved beyond space, so we really need seasonal, full-time and part-time staff.
