Our opinion
The DreameBot L10s Ultra offers true set-and-forget cleaning, but its price might make you think you want more than you need.
While cheap robot vacuums are perfectly capable of restoring the shine to your floors, manufacturers are adding more and more convenience features to these products as prices keep rising. The Dreamebot L10S Ultra is a perfect example. This luxurious all-in-one vacuum and mop hybrid can create detailed maps that recognize room and floor types, empty your own trash can and dirty water, and wash and dry your mops. It also includes a navigation camera that can also be used as a home surveillance tool. However, most of these features fall into the "nice but not necessary" category, which reserves the L10S Ultra for adventurers interested in home automation.

dream technique
The heart of the L10S Ultra is its 16 x 13 x 22 inch base station. The device not only keeps the robot charged, but also helps with cleaning by emptying the robot's 350ml dust container after vacuum cycles and emptying and refilling the water tank during cleaning jobs. This takes into account the size of the base station; It houses a 3L dust bag in its belly, accessible by removing the chrome plate on the front, and 2.5L clean and dirty water reservoirs in a compartment under its top lid.
The robot navigates using an RGB camera and LiDAR (Light Sensing and Ranging), which projects laser light onto its surroundings and calculates the distance to surrounding objects based on the time it takes for the reflected light to return to the robot's sensor. Essentially, this allows the robot to "see" in 3D and create an accurate map of space. Live streaming from the RGB camera can also be accessed via the DreameHome companion app used to power the L10S Ultra, allowing you to use the robot as a roaming guardian as well.

Given its wealth of high-end features, it's no surprise that the Dreamebot L10S requires a little more preparation than a typical entry-level robot vacuum. The base station comes assembled with water reservoirs and dust bags, so all you have to do is plug it in. To prepare the system for cleaning, you must first remove both water tanks and insert an included bottle of Multi-Surface Cleaner. liquid, fill the "clean" tank with fresh water and put both tanks back in place.
To connect the robot, download the DreameHome app and select Dreamebot L10S Ultra from a list of products. From there, the app will walk you through the steps to connect the robot to your Wi-Fi network. The L10S Ultra even offers a "Quick Map" option, which generates a faster map by not cleaning during the robot's first pass.
During my testing period, Dreametech's claim of a "set and forget" cleaning experience proved to be true. The initial map for my lower level neatly divided the floorplan into four color-coded areas and even cheekily dropped a toilet icon in the bathroom, so no change was required on my part. Object avoidance was excellent: the robot maneuvered nimbly around furniture, moved in and out of tight spaces, and never collided with a wall or other obstacle. It even managed to navigate access points in my living room that other robot vacuums had locked in, and it avoided new items, including my kids' shoes, which have fallen on the floor since the robot cleaned.

The L10S Ultra vacuums and washes one after the other. In a multi-story home like mine, it automatically raises the mops and increases suction when you move from a hard floor to a carpet. Saved me the burden of keeping it close by to make sure it didn't turn some rugs into a wet mess. After each job, the robot would return to its base, where the contents of its dust box would be automatically sucked into the base station's dust bag and the mops cleaned by dunking them in water and spinning them at high speed against the slots in the base board. of the train station. Then he dried them in hot air.
All the convenience offered by the L10S Ultra's battery life wouldn't be worth much if it didn't clean your floors. Luckily he keeps his promise here too. The robot offers a strong peak suction power of 5300 Pa, more than double the average robot vacuum, and it was more than enough to clean my floors of dust, stuck dirt and pet hair. I even smashed a handful of chips on the floor and it easily absorbed them without leaving a single crumb.
Cleanliness was equally impressive. The robot's twin mopping heads rotate at 180 rpm and apply firm pressure to remove stubborn dirt from hard floors. This motion, along with the L10S Ultra's water and cleaning fluid solution, made my floors look like I just mopped them.

With the DreameHome app, you can easily control and customize your cleaning experience. Instead of cleaning an entire floorplan, you can perform a room clean by clicking on a room on your map before starting a job. Area Cleanup lets you clean up even smaller areas, which allows you to resize an area to a specific area on the map. Likewise, you can set up virtual no-mop and no-mop zones to keep the robot away from certain areas. The app also allows you to manage vacuum settings, cleaning times, mopping pad moisture and self-cleaning details.
The app will ask you to create a PIN code to access the live view of the RGB camera. When activated, it opens a separate interface that lets you remotely control the robot's movements, talk through its speaker, and take snapshots. You can also send it to waypoints by tapping on the same map you used when cleaning. While it allows you to monitor your home in real-time, it obviously lacks many of the features of a dedicated home security camera, such as: B. Motion detection and real-time alerts. On the other hand, coupled with such a device, you can respond to a push notification about unexpected movement in your home by sending it to areas where you don't have fixed cameras.
As independent as the L10S Ultra is, sometimes you need to intervene. The base station dust bag should be removed and replaced approximately every 60 days, and the water tanks and base station should be cleaned and dried regularly to prevent mold and odors. Mops, cleaning liquid and other consumables also need to be replaced regularly. It's worth comparing this routine maintenance to the cost of the L10S Ultra. You may find that a simpler vacuum or even your traditional vacuum and mop are cheaper cleaners. Ultimately, the high purchase price and ongoing maintenance of the L10S Ultra made me classify "hands-free cleaning" as a need, not a necessity. But if the chance to relieve that hated duty is too good to pass up, you'll likely find the L10S Ultra worth your time.
