The hair expert says a lot of our first thoughts when it comes to graying hair are to cover everything up with dye or "block color," but that's mistake number one, as Pam says, "You don't have to be so picky. ". :
"Blocking your hair blonde to get rid of gray is not the solution because it can look very aged. Many people dye their hair medium blonde thinking it resembles gray. You will often feel like you have to dress and be very demanding for it, not to mention that it can drain and wash you, which we know is very old.
If you find you're just starting to notice gray hair, Pam has some helpful advice:
"It's a shame that someone has to commit to a lot of color as it can be expensive and very costly to maintain. I'd say it's old fashioned to fade out color just to remove a few shades of gray.
So what can we do?
"The best thing for someone just starting to go gray is what we call 'chasing grey'. Natural color and search for the most obvious and visible shades of gray. It's very easy."
"If you're someone who has a lot of gray, then highlights are the answer. However, I would suggest that if you want to make your hair stand out, make sure you use the right shades. Don't just do one! I've always mixed highlights with some low light to get rid of gray hair. The low light acts as your natural base, mimicking natural hair. It gives you a really beautiful and youthful look.
"Never go darker than you were natural as it can look very artificial. Always keep lighter around the face as the weather would naturally do it. I would say even for someone with dark hair Gives a natural glow to the face.
"A good place to start is to add light highlights that frame the face, as the temples and hairline will gray first. Make sure to keep a natural base on your back. »
"Toners are also very important because gray hair and gray hair obviously have no pigment, which means your blonde will be too grayish or too flat without toner. I recommend lightening and using a toner every two weeks, rather than adding more curls to it to have." .It is a very gentle process that gives shine and keeps the hair young.
"Grey hair is usually pretty dry. With our skin and hair, we always want it to look firm, shiny and strong. Therefore, it is important that you treat and oil your hair regularly. Don't be afraid of oils for gray hair because you're drinking the oil. If you use oil during the day and don't want it to look greasy, stay away from things like castor oil and argan oil. While they are extremely beneficial as a nighttime treatment, they are a little heavy during the day.
"During the day I would recommend using camille oil or jojoba oil. They are very light and do not weigh down the hair. Getting your hair trimmed regularly is another good tip because if the hair ends up breaking it can look quite rough and unkempt. If you find that the color ends up fading a lot, it's probably because you're not trimming it regularly what means the end will lose color as it dries out.
"Maintaining blood flow to the scalp prevents thinning hair and premature graying, and may even help prevent hair loss. Tapping and massaging the scalp for a few minutes a day, even exercise like brisk walking, can help." body is great."
