Fabulous Cleaning Recall: These Are the Bottles You Should Throw Out - NJ.com

Colgate-Palmolive has recalled approximately 5 million bottles of Fabuloso cleaning products due to bacterial contamination .

The company recalled the all-purpose cleaners because a preservative "was not added in expected amounts during manufacturing." This can cause the growth of bacteria commonly found in soil and water.

Nobody has been affected by the bacteria so far. However , according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), people with compromised immune systems, underlying lung conditions, or external medical devices are at risk of developing serious illness.

The 4.9 million bottles were made between December 14, 2022 and January 23, 2023. They were distributed to numerous retailers including Amazon, Home Depot, Sam's Club, Dollar General and Walmart.

Colgate-Palmolive also said 3.9 million bottles were not for sale.

Consumers should immediately stop using the affected Fabuloso cleaners listed here and discard them. "The first 8 digits of the lot code for the recalled product are 2348US78 to 2365US78 and 3001US78 to 3023US78," according to the CPSC.

You can also get a refund through a dedicated website or by calling the company at 1-855-703-0166.
