Do you fear that spring and summer are coming to the garden? Maybe you have hard-to-control areas, inherited a particularly high-maintenance plot, or just don't have the time or energy to do it. The term "low maintenance" conjures up images of giant evergreens and boring plantings in supermarket parking lots, but it doesn't have to be that way.
I'm often asked how to reduce the gardening workload by those who for some reason (health, kids, work) don't have the time, and when designing a garden from scratch there are simple things to consider.
In some cases, there may be an initial input of work, money, or both.
