How to wash a fabric mask

The ceiling facial treatment is increasingly becoming the new standard, while the Americans during the crisis of Covid-19 continues adventure experience .

While most of us are aware of the importance of hand washing to reduce the risk of bacterial transmission, washing masks are equally important to keep them hygienic. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) provide guidelines for effectively cleaning face masks after use. Before you start, there are a few helpful tips to consider:

  • These instructions do not apply to single-use N95 or KN95 masks.
  • Masks bought in the store are often supplied with washing instructions tailored to your fabric type. However, if you're making a mask yourself, check the fiber content and then look for the right washing instructions that are easy to find online.
  • Always wash your hands after handling a worn mask.

Throw them in the washing machine

According to the CDC , fabric covers must be washed after each use. One way to do this is to throw them into the machine with common household detergents or more exclusive environmentally friendly and hypoallergenic varieties. For maximum effectiveness, use the hottest machine water setting and the most suitable for the type of fabric you cover your face with.

Wash them by hand with bleach and water.

Since masks have to be washed every day, washing hands can be more environmentally friendly and economical. The CDC recommends the preparation of a bleaching solution from 1/3 cup of household bleach per gallon of water at room temperature or four teaspoons of household bleach per liter of water at room temperature. Check that the bleach used is for disinfection purposes as some color-safe or environmentally friendly versions may not be suitable for disinfection. And make sure the bleach has not passed its expiration date.

Then immerse the face covering in the bleaching solution for at least five minutes and then rinse thoroughly with cold water or at room temperature, as you do not want to inhale the smell of bleach. Air dry indoors or in direct sunlight. Or use the highest temperature and leave it in the dryer until it is completely dry.

How to clean your ears without harming yourself

At first glance, the ears seem to be a controversial topic. In contrast to washing the legs (or taking a regular shower ), there are not many discussions on this topic on the Internet . It gets interesting when cleaning the ears. After all, the ear is a complex device, and we have all heard contradicting information about how many cotton swabs need to be taken care of for your ear (spoiler alarm: nothing at all).

To demystify things for you, we specify exactly when and how to clean your ears yourself, what you should avoid, and some advice on when to consult an ear wax removal provider.

Do you need to clean your ears at all?

Your ears are more than showcases for earrings and hosts for occasional buttons . When you think of your ears, you are probably thinking of the outer ear. These include the auricle or atrium, the outer structure that you can see very easily, and the outer ear canal that represents the beginning of your ear canal. But there is also the middle ear (made up of three bones that transmit sound waves) and the inner ear made up of nerves and channels that help us listen and keep our balance , according to the Medical Center at the University of Rochester . His ears also contain eardrums, better known as eardrums, that separate the outer ear from the middle ear, explains the University of Rochester Medical Center .

After we've covered this brief anatomy lesson, we'll talk about ear wax or ear wax. So you're probably curious about how to clean your ears at all. The skin glands in the ears excrete this wax, which lines the outer half of your ear canal, says the Mayo Clinic . It may be hard to believe, but ear wax is your friend. With small hairs in the ears, it should protect your inner ear from dust, dirt and other elements, explains the Mayo Clinic . And perhaps to believe in more difficult news: "In general, the ear canal is self-cleaning," said Dr. Christopher Chang, an ENT doctor in Warrenton, Virginia.

When your body produces new wax, the older wax is expelled from your ear and falls off naturally, according to the Mayo Clinic . "You really don't have to do much," said Dr. Chang. You also cleanse your ears a little by living your life. Opening and closing the mouth moves the ear canals so far that some wax is shaken off, says Dr. Erich Voigt , associate clinical professor and chief of general ear, nose and throat medicine / sleep at NYU Langone Health. "Chewing and speaking automatically cleans the ear," he explains.

Apart from this you may want to really know how to clean your ears as safe as possible, because you know that the self-cleaning mechanism is doomed to failure. Read on to learn how to clean your ears without actually making them angry with you.

Here we show you how to safely clean your ears.

Dr. Voigt recommends cleaning your ears with mild soap and water when showering. "When you wash your hair , you can clean [your ears] with a washcloth," he says.

In particular, you can clean the ear cup, which includes the folds of the outer ear and earlobe. It should also be hit behind the ears. But the ear canal is not part of the ear to be cleaned, says Dr. Voigt. Taking your little finger and digging in your ear to remove some wax from the beginning of your ear canal may seem harmless, but you really shouldn't. Why? Because bullying in this way can lead to a number of complications. You can press the ear wax deeper into your ear, which can cause ear wax to become blocked. This happens when the sticky substance accumulates or hardens and your body cannot naturally remove it, explains the Mayo Clinic . Or you can accidentally tear or puncture the layer of tissue that protects the eardrum, says the Mayo Clinic . This is called a perforated eardrum. By the way, both can change your hearing.

The most beautiful white sandals for summer (combined with products to keep them clean)

Contrary to the elegant and easy-to-wear reputation of summer white, it's actually a rather provocative and bold shade. Sure, it's buttoned up and maybe a little stuffy, but that's what makes it so dangerous. There is no place to hide when you wear white: every piece of pizza you have eaten, every glass of red wine you have drunk and the blade of grass you have stepped on has the capacity. Leave traces on your flawless canvas. Still, white is more fashionable than ever when it comes to sandals for the warm season. So if we wear white shoes, we should be armed and ready with good detergents.

Are you moving out of a rented house? Eight tips for shiny property

Are you moving out of a rented house? Eight best tricks to make property shiny

Leaving a rental property can be stressful, especially if you want to get your deposit back in full. If your rental agreement does not specify professional cleaning, you will probably want to do the job yourself.

I recently moved out of a rented apartment and thought I would share my best cleaning tips so they shine for future tenants. I made sure that I had brought all my things to my new accommodation before I started deep cleaning so I could get to all areas.

From reviving the tile mortar to highlighting the hob, oven and taps, these are some of my tried and tested basic cleaners that I like to use.

Remove marks from walls and counters

Abbey Magic 10-pack eraser, £ 5.76

Whether you have kids who leave dirty fingerprints on the walls or stubborn food stains on kitchen countertops, these Abbey Magic erasers quickly remove stains from most surfaces. There was a turmeric stain on the kitchen counter that disappeared completely after a few wipes.

The Magic Eraser Ten Pack is also great for removing Blu-Tack marks from walls, watermarks, and more. I even used it to remove stains from kitchen tiles and cabinets.

Simply wet the sponge and wring it out, test it on an inconspicuous area before use and wipe the surface lightly. The best thing is that you don't have to use any additional cleaning agents or chemicals.

Clean the oven

Oven Brite Complete Oven Cleaner, £ 6.75

In addition to scrubbing the toilet, cleaning an oven is probably one of my least preferred tasks. However, this Oven Brite kit is very easy to use and makes the oven look like new. There is no need to scrub. However, this is a powerful product. Therefore, read the instructions carefully, wear the gloves provided and also cover your wrists and arms.

The smoke-free formula cuts fat off completely and burns food in the oven. The frames and grills are so bright and the window of the oven door glows.

Let the plate, the sink and the taps light up

Sonic Scrubber Household Washer Electric Cleaning Brush, £ 21.99

This versatile sonic washer was one of my favorite purchases of cleaning tools this year. The electric cleaning brush removes limescale from faucets, stubborn burned food and grease from ovens, and even dirt and mold from tile mortar.

It comes with four different head accessories that are suitable for a variety of tasks. These are very easy to change and change.

The swing head moves 10,000 times per minute so it does all the friction for you and is ideal if you want to get a job done quickly or suffer from arthritis. I used it with The Pink Stuff , which works wonders when cutting fat and lime. It's also only £ 1 from Wilko, so I highly recommend getting a pot.

Clean drains

Buster kitchen and bathroom drain is unlocked from € 2.50

Shortly before I moved, I noticed that the water in the shower did not drain so easily and an unpleasant smell came from one of the drains. Although the holes were sunk and the washing machine was cleaned with baking soda and white vinegar, it remained. o I decided to bring the big guns with me.

I let the Buster Bathroom Drain Unloader work overnight and it looks like it worked great because the water is now draining much faster. In the morning I poured the kitchen unlocker into the sink. It is a very strong product that warms and shines immediately when you pour it on the lid.

The smell is similar to hair dye, but was so strong that I had to leave. I strongly recommend using some kind of mask to avoid breathing vapors and gloves so that you don't burn your hands with this product.

After using both, the smell and constipation disappeared completely.

Leaves the shower doors shiny

Bath cleaning spray method, £ 3

I've been a fan of Method Wild Rhubarb all-purpose cleaner for a long time, so I decided to give this mint and eucalyptus bath spray a spin. It amazingly dissolves soap foam and limescale deposits on shower doors and grilles and cleans shower tiles and floors.

I just sprayed it on the glass and left it on for a minute or two, then I colored it with the shower and used a squeegee so that there were no traces of water or marks on the glass. Then I used a scratch-free minky microfiber cloth to dry the remaining soap and water.

Update faded tile mortar

Unibond Grout Reviver Pen, £ 4.50

The moldy tile mortar in the shower is a disgusting sight, and since it is a rental property, I didn't want to give up the mortar. Instead, I came across this nifty Unibond Grout Reviver Pen on Amazon that made it much brighter and fresher.

The innovative shape of the pen makes it uncomplicated and easy to use. Excess product can be easily wiped off the tiles with a paper towel. It also has triple protection against mold, which means that it repels, kills and prevents mold.

It dries in 60 minutes, which means you can take a shower shortly after application.

Flash Powermop Starter Kit, All-in-One Dual Mop + 10 pads, now £ 22 (save £ 8)

After vacuuming, I've been using this reliable Flash Powermop for several years and it still gives great results. At a regular retail price of £ 30, this starter kit is currently available on Amazon for just £ 22. It comes with the mop, an all-in-one double spray and ten cleaning pads.

The electric mop requires four AA batteries (included in delivery) and is ready for immediate use. You can simply press a button to spray the cleaning liquid on the floor and remove dirt. The absorbent pads pick up and block dirt and grime.

A replacement spray will cost you around £ 4, but a helpful tip I learned from an online woman was to hold the bottle in boiling water for a few minutes so that it can then flip the cap over. add.

I use a top of Zoflora Very Berry Concentrated Disinfectant, mixed with water that kills bacteria, cleans the floor super effectively and makes the house smell amazing.
