My Power Performs Winterization and Maintenance Inspections for... - Yahoo Finance

FAIRMONT, West Virginia , Nov. 29, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- With cold weather ahead, Mon Power, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp, is leading the West Virginia service area this winter.

"Our customers depend on a safe and reliable power supply to feel comfortable in the coming months and it is imperative that we take proactive steps to ensure our system and commercial vehicles are well prepared for the challenges of winter said Jim Myers . , President of FirstEnergy's West Virginia operations.

Mon Power Utility personnel inspect substation equipment and winterize substation control buildings to ensure critical components of your system are functioning properly in cold weather.

Electricians also inspect critical components with specialized thermal vision cameras that capture infrared images that can reveal potential problems not visible with regular visual inspections. For example, infrared technology can detect equipment problems such as loose connections and corrosion, and utility workers can make repairs to prevent potential power outages in the future.

Year-round tree pruning also helps manage the rigors of winter operations by maintaining proper clearances around electrical equipment and providing protection from tree pruning from snow, high winds and ice. Mon Power Tree Contractors plan to cut more than 5,200 miles of power lines by 2022.

In addition, shovel trucks and other company vehicles are checked for safe operation during the winter season. Tires and air braking systems, which can freeze in the wet, are carefully checked. In addition, the company ensures that snow removal equipment is available so that employees can safely get to the workplaces and operating facilities.

At its regulated power plants, Fort Martin Power Station and Harrison Power Station, Mon Power has completed plant equipment maintenance and implemented its winterization schedule to ensure optimal performance during the winter months.

Customers can view tips on how to prepare for severe weather ahead of time and receive recovery updates when storms cause outages by visiting FirstEnergy's 24-hour Power Center at www.firstenergycorp.com/outages .

The winter storm season also brings freezing temperatures and rising energy costs. Customers can take steps to keep their homes comfortable while managing their electricity bills during this cold season. The following tips can help customers use electricity wisely during this time of high demand:

  • Set the thermostats as low as comfort allows. Every degree that a customer can reduce the temperature in their home means about 3% less energy consumption in winter.

  • Seal any leaks around windows and door frames with caulking or caulking strips to prevent cold air from entering your home.

  • Close the chimney damper when not in use to keep cold air out.

  • Close the curtains at night. During the day, only open those that receive direct sunlight.

  • Use a programmable or smart thermostat to keep temperatures low when no one is home and raise them before you return home.

  • Check the oven fan filters. Clogged filters waste energy and money by forcing a heating system to work harder than necessary.

  • Make sure your home is properly insulated. If you have less than six inches of insulation, you'll benefit from adding more.

  • Payment terms and utilities are available to customers who need help with their utility bills. Visit www.firstenergycorp.com/bilassist for more information.

Ten tips for spring cleaning news 24

Spring cleaning shouldn't just be about cleaning the same items over again, but also getting to those hard-to-reach spots we've been avoiding all winter.

Spring cleaning shouldn't just be about cleaning the same items over again, but also getting to those hard-to-reach spots we've been avoiding all winter.

Spring cleaning shouldn't just be about cleaning the same items over again, but also getting to those hard-to-reach spots we've been avoiding all winter.

Bronwyn Ragavan, brand manager for AMKA home care brands, knows that spring cleaning is about unseen places rather than places that are cared for year-round. She explains that houses get a lot dustier in the winter due to dry air, so certain areas of the house should be at the top of your spring cleaning list.

"A good place to start is to ask yourself when was the last time you cleaned. When was the last time I cleaned the remote control, the door handles behind the refrigerator? It is known that dust settles in these places and germs multiply," says Ragavan.

Ragavan suggests making the following 10 cleaning tasks a priority when it comes to getting rid of winter dust build-up and making your home a hygienic home:

  • As the weather warms up, it's time to unpack your summer clothes and get your winter clothes ready. It uses an innovative, powerful and efficient powder detergent that respects the environment. Personal Touch powdered laundry detergent sheets are a convenient, easy and recyclable option in a 90g box. Equivalent to a 2kg bag of washing powder, these washcloths are easy to use and deliver every wash.
  • Clean your windows once the windy season is over. Dust can accumulate on the windows, making the house dark and dirty. Enjoy the beauty of spring through clean, dust-free windows.
  • Wash out your trash cans to get rid of any germs that have built up over the winter. Take your trash cans outside and give them a thorough clean. Wash and scrub your trash cans with warm water mixed with Chemico Liqui Cleen with 3X Extreme Clean and Actibeads. Allow them to dry in the sun before bringing them indoors.
  • Turn your furniture over and not only sweep/vacuum the floor underneath, but underneath it too. Dust collects under your furniture in winter. Don't forget to dust off your outdoor space too. If you have vinyl tile, Marley tile, or melamine on your floor, why not buff it with Jewel Floor Polish, ready for guests once the weather warms up?
  • Dust collects not only on the floor, but also above it. Be sure to dust the tops of door frames, between blinds, and over curtain rods. A house full of dust makes allergic reactions and hay fever worse.
  • In the winter, items tend to accumulate and clutter rooms. Take it piece by piece and clean at the same time as you clean. This way you can finish a piece completely without having to go back. Also, clutter can make a house look untidy even if it's clean.
  • Your toilet should be the only place you clean all the time, but when it comes to spring cleaning, your throne gets a thorough clean. Chemico's toilet bowl cleaning formula contains 3x extreme cleaning with anti-limescale and kills 99.9% of all germs.
  • If you're looking to improve your environmental footprint by conserving water, limiting your discharge is known to make a world of difference. Organico is an alternative odor rinsing solution that households can always use instead of soft water. Available in 100g sachets or 2.5kg buckets, its formula breaks down human waste, preventing the spread of disease and leaving a fresh scent on the toilet.
  • While you are in the bathroom, your shower also needs a good cleaning. And if you have a shower curtain, you need to regularly inspect it for mold growth in the folds. Throw it in the washing machine for a deep clean. In addition, always keep the shower curtain open so that it dries completely.
  • Although your dishes will be washed throughout the winter, your dish soap can be used for other cleaning tasks. Use Viva dishwashing liquid to remove grease stains on your clothes. Rub in some of the liquid, then rinse with water for an instant treatment. Or use your dish soap to give your jewelry a spring clean: mix some liquid with water and use the bubbles to clean your jewelry with a soft brush; An old toothbrush works well.

Answers to the "ideal" temperature for washing linens and "how often to change linens"

It's cold and damp outside, dry days are rare, and water and electricity bills have never been higher. However, these beds have yet to be changed. If you're considering turning down the temperature on your washing machine to save energy and money , you may have been wondering what temperature to set to ensure your laundry is always hygienically clean. .

And then, of course, there's the dilemma of how often to change the bed linen. Luckily, spoke to a range of laundry experts who shared the best temperature for washing bed linen, how often and their thoughts on using a clothes cleaner.

The questions that sparked the debate began on the Facebook group, Cleaning Tips from Ms. Hinch. When asked whether 60 degrees Celsius was "the best wash for bed linen and sheets", the answers poured in. One person said: "I use 60 degrees Celsius for sheets and towels. 30 for everything else. Another agreed, "I set mine to 60 to get really clean and kill bacteria." And a third said, 'Always do 60 for sheets and towels.'

Read more: A major home insulation program could save £310 on energy bills

Others chose a lower temperature: "I make mine at 40°C and use antibacterial detergent with the fabric softener every week." And another agreed: "Due to the newer powder detergents available, it's perfectly acceptable to wash linens and such on the 30th."

The advice went on. One person suggested adding natural detergents to laundry to ensure hygienic cleaning: "I alternate soda and white vinegar every wash, no problem at 30."

Big brands have also clicked on the detergent idea, with several manufacturers making products that can be added to a wash to kill bacteria at a lower temperature. Express.co.uk has previously spoken to Astonish, who have Protect + Care Laundry Cleaner , which "is a biodegradable additive that kills 99.9% of bacteria on fabrics and in the drum, even at low temperatures, giving you a get hygienically clean laundry."

The product is "ideal for towels, children's clothing, sportswear, underwear, socks, bedding and more, with an allergen-free fragrance." It is used by adding it to the fabric softener drawer of the washing machine. Then wash as normal with your usual detergent.

For its part, Smol suggests varying the washing temperature depending on whether organic or non-organic products are used. Kathleen Bell, sustainable cleaning expert at smol, said: "Smol Concentrated Organic Washing Pads are best suited for medium to low temperature washes (ideally between 30 and 40 degrees).

"The detergent contains enzymes that help break down common stains like food stains, sweat stains, grass stains and grease stains. These enzymes are really good at breaking down those hard-to-remove stains and loosening them from clothes.

"Smol's non-organic wash capsules don't contain the same enzymes but are still effective at killing germs and bacteria while still being super soft and tender. For non-biological washes, you may need to use a higher temperature setting to facilitate the cleaning process.

As for how often you should wash your sheets, Ryan Thaker, Marketing Manager at MattressNextDay, said: "The general guideline is that when your sheets are damp and 'sweaty', those sheets and pillowcases should be removed and the linens changed at least once a week. after a good night's sleep, it's worth washing and drying them to keep them fresh for the next night.

"Some medical conditions require your bed to be as clean as possible, free of bacteria and dust that can cause allergies. If you have skin conditions like eczema or psoriasis, or respiratory conditions like asthma , these can be made worse by exposure to dust or bacteria. , so you should wash your bedding as often as possible.

Struggling With Large Pores? Follow These Tips To Reduce Pores And Prevent Acne

Skin Care: Washing twice a day is ideal for healthy skin

The skin's surface has pores that serve as exit points for sweat and sebaceous glands. Pore size is largely determined by genetics. You cannot permanently reduce the size of your pores as this is largely a genetic trait. However, you can reduce their appearance by keeping them free of oil and dirt and increasing your skin's collagen and elastin levels.

Consistent skin care routine that focuses on washing and moisturizing the skin can help tighten pores. It's also important to remember that there will always be pores; Instead, the focus should be on maintaining healthy skin and finding the best ways to reduce large pores for your skin type. Read on as we share effective tips that can help you reduce your pore size.

Here are some simple and effective tips to help you reduce the size of your pores:

1. Use sunscreen

To prevent the loss of collagen and elastin due to skin damage, protection from the sun's rays is essential. If you take care of your skin during the day, use a sunscreen with a high SPF. Your face can also be protected from UV rays by wearing hats and other physical barriers.

2. Wash your face well

The best ways to keep your pores clear are to exfoliate frequently and wash daily. It will be much more difficult to see clean pores. The ideal method to get the job done is heat or steam, but you can also start by applying a warm washcloth to your face before cleaning.

3. Wash your face morning and evening

The ideal is to wash twice a day, ideally in the morning and evening. More frequent washing can irritate the skin. Using a daily cleanser can be beneficial for skin that is often oily or has clogged pores. According to a study, using a cleanser can help keep pores clear and reduce some acne symptoms.

4. Try a chemical peel

It shrinks pores to remove excess oil and dead skin cells. An occasional chemical peel done at home will do the trick. Depending on the type of peel and the depth of skin cells you're removing, you can use most over-the-counter peels every two weeks and sometimes even weekly. Meet with a dermatologist to find out what's best for you.

5. Stop scratching your face

Keep hands away from skin unless washing or performing other skin care routines. It's best to avoid touching your face for long periods of time, let alone pinching it, as bacteria can spread from your fingertips to your face and into your pores. While it can be tempting to check for clogged pores, doing so usually only makes blemishes worse, leading to bleeding, scabbing, and even scarring.

6. Use the correct toner

You can't be sure about using toner in a skincare routine. However, toner might be one of the best products for your pores. Toners also help reduce the amount of dirt and impurities that get into the skin as they help to significantly reduce pore size.

7. Use water-based products

Products with a high content of moisturizers compared to the most suitable oils for people with oily skin. Petrolatum, coconut oil, and other types of oils can be found in oil-based products. They are successful in moisturizing the skin, although people with oily skin and large pores may not want to use them. The accumulation of extra oil in the skin can give the appearance of larger pores.

8. Avoid oil-based products

If possible, do not use cleaning agents that contain oil or alcohol. Skin irritation from the oil can lead to breakouts. Alcohol can make skin dry and red. Avoid using products advertised as moisturizing cleansers if you have oily skin as they can leave a residue or even make your skin oilier.

Keep these tips in mind if you want to improve your skin's health and reduce the visibility of skin pores.

Eight cleaning tips that will make your home shine, even the laziest of cleaners can follow

Keeping your home tidy can be difficult, but there are many clever tricks that require little effort.

Cleaning can be cathartic, but also incredibly exhausting, depending on your personal process.

Cleaning is often seen as a chore, but some find it cathartic.

According to Upworthy and a recent Reddit thread , there may be a solution to this dilemma.

One Reddit user started a conversation and asked, "For those of you who hate cleaning, what's your secret to a clean house?"

Others reacted quickly.

They even revealed at least eight different ways to keep your living space clean .

I'm a cleaning genius and you loaded your dishwasher wrong
I have a two-ingredient hack that will have your air fryer sparkling in minutes

1. Invite people

The first option proposed by Redditor was to invite people to your home.

In her opinion, it would basically force you to clean to save you the embarrassment of someone else seeing your dirty house.

"Invite someone/people. The only thing worse than cleaning is being ashamed of your disgust," they wrote.

2. Get rid of excess items

Another suggestion from the thread was to get rid of stuff you don't need.

The most read in lifestyle

We can often accumulate belongings without realizing it, which takes up more space and consequently makes your home look cluttered and disorganized.

Not to mention that many things are difficult to move into the future with, as one Redditor pointed out.

3. Robot vacuum cleaner

Using automated cleaners remotely is definitely an option.

Many people have rumbas for their automatic vacuum cleaners at home, so you can relax while the little device does all the work.

From a practical point of view, it could also give you more time to clean other rooms while the automatic vacuum cleaner does its job.

4. Clean up immediately after making a mess

Scrolling down the list, one Redditor made an interesting suggestion of basically "cleaning as you go," meaning that once you've soiled a room or item, you clean it immediately afterwards.

This works well for plates, of course, but can be more difficult for large dishes.

Either way, cleaning little things here and there for a few minutes at a time can save you a lot more time.

5. Pay for a cleaning service

While this isn't the best option financially given your situation, one Redditor suggested a twice-weekly cleaning service.

"One of the best things I've ever done for my mental health was to hire a cleaning service twice a month. We have young children who walk into a room and mess it up," they wrote.

This option depends on many circumstances but can be a great time saver.

6. Clean up the largest projects first

One thoughtful suggestion from one Redditor included a method that would appear to prompt you to clean more.

This would happen by starting with the hardest task first, the logic being that once you remove them everything else will seem easier.

For example, first the huge mountain of dishes, then the vacuum cleaning and wiping of the work surfaces.

7. Planning

Carefully planning each type of cleaning might seem like a chore, but for those who love organization, it could be a game changer.

This would provide the satisfaction of going through items on a to-do list one at a time.

Not only can this be satisfying, but it can also help you organize your thoughts on what you need to clean up.

8. Play music

Listening to good music or a podcast while you're cleaning can add a lot of background fun to take away from the chore of cleaning.

It shouldn't completely distract you, but should be there just enough to help you with chores.

One Reddit user explained that they danced to the music while cleaning, so they enjoyed the process no less.

Kylie Jenner shows off curves in just a dress in hot new video

Whichever method you choose, it's important to find ways to make the process more enjoyable and accessible so you don't leave dirty dishes and messy items behind.

Easy washing machine hack you can do today to save a small fortune on your electric bill

Households across Ireland are grappling with rising electricity bills and are looking for a way to reduce the number at the end of their monthly bill.

While you change rates and ask your provider for a better deal, there are simple things you can do around the home to save a small fortune, including a very simple trick with your washing machine.

Energia has published a list of tips to reduce your consumption and bills, presenting the cheapest and most expensive household appliances

Read more : Meteorology Expert Identifies 'Start of Winter' Day Along With Unusual Weather Patterns

To save money quickly, it can help to change the settings on your washing machine.

Energia says: "Efficient settings for your washing machine can help you reduce energy consumption. Aside from only running the washing machine at full load, washing at 30 degrees or on the Eco setting, if available, can use around 57% less electricity than washing at higher temperatures."

The Energia report shows that the washing machine costs around €0.43 an hour, so every little saving will help you keep money in your pocket.

They also shared a tip for your oven: keep the door closed to keep the heat in. Sounds easy, but when you open the oven door, about 20% of the heat is lost, forcing the oven to run to get hot.

Only a fifth uses the washing machine in the 30 degree program to save electricity
Only a fifth use the washing machine at 30 degrees to reduce electricity consumption

Experts therefore advise looking through the glass door to check the food instead of constantly opening the oven door.

Energia says: "By putting food in the oven before turning it on, you can help reduce your energy consumption. Another helpful tip is to use a slow cooker or batch cooker. A slow cooker used for six hours can cost you as little as 55 cents."

The air fryer is officially the cheapest way to cook at just $0.56 per hour, while a conventional oven costs $0.58. A microwave costs €0.65 and a toaster €0.68.

Energia's insightful research has shown us the most expensive appliances in the home, and there are energy burners.

It's not all bad news, though, because you don't have to feel guilty about that Netflix binge or the World Cup because your TV costs you less on your bill. For only €0.04 per hour you can enjoy as much TV as you want without a guilty conscience.

At 0.43 euros per hour, the box is significantly cheaper than the second cheapest device, which is actually the washing machine. The second cheapest is also a voucher – an espresso machine – which only costs €0.52 per hour.

For households at the other end of the scale, there's a nasty surprise: the most expensive device is used multiple times a day if you have a large family.

The hydromassage shower costs €3.33 per hour of use. This keeps the tumble dryer, often blamed as the biggest energy consumer in the home, off the hook, although it'll still cost you £1.30 an hour.

Le sèche-linge est le troisième plus cher, mais le thermoplongeur est en fait le deuxième et coûte €1.67 de l'heure à utiliser, donc vos parents avaient raison d'être obsédés par le fait qu'il soit éteint en quittant home.

The cost of 20 devices in your home

To help taxpayers cut costs, Energia has released these essential winter tips.

Keep your oven closed

When you open the oven door, about 20% of the heat is lost, forcing your oven to work to heat you up, so experts recommend looking through the glass door to check for food, rather than looking out through the glass door look to control them . Keep the oven door open for the food to be cooked. By putting your food in the oven before turning on the oven, you can help reduce your energy consumption. Another helpful tip is to use a slow cooker or batch cooker. A slow cooker used for six hours can cost you as little as 55 cents.

Use your microwave and fryer

Using a microwave oven uses much less energy than a traditional oven. Microwaves only heat food, not the air around it. What might take 20 minutes to heat up in the oven for 0.21c could take 10 minutes in the microwave at a cost of 0.10c with your microwave.

Meanwhile, using an air fryer for an hour costs 55 cents, while using an oven for an hour costs 57 cents. However, using an air fryer for 15 minutes uses 40% less energy than running an hour in the oven.

This is because the small size of air fryers tends to maximize airflow and heat food even faster than an oven.

Pay attention to the settings of your washing machine

Efficient settings on your washing machine can help you reduce energy consumption. In addition to only running the washing machine at full load, washing at 30 degrees or on the Eco setting, if available, can use around 57% less electricity than washing at higher temperatures.

less is more

To reduce the energy consumption of your fridges and freezers, which on average account for more than 10% of a typical energy bill, only store what you need in the fridge and freezer and do regular oil changes.

The less they are stored in the fridge or freezer, the less energy they use. Therefore, keeping them away from foods that don't need refrigeration can help.

Know your qualifications

Do you know the energy efficiency class of your TV? Devices are rated on a scale from A to G. Whenever possible, select devices as close to an A rating as possible to reduce energy consumption. Some devices may use the A+++ to G rating scale above. On the scale above, A+++ is the most energy efficient.

Switch to LED bulbs

Switch to LED bulbs whenever possible. If you can't afford to switch them all at once, consider the LED tips for your next bubble. LEDs are typically at least 80% more energy efficient and can often last 10 years or more.

Watch how you prepare your coffee

If you have a coffee maker at home but constantly use the kettle to brew your morning cup of coffee, you might be surprised to learn that the average coffee maker uses over 60% less energy per use to brew coffee. than to boil a kettle.

Manage your dryer

If you have multiple loads of wet clothes, fold similar clothes together to dry. Different materials require different settings. Generally, high heat is used for jeans, towels, and other heavy items. Medium heat can be used for synthetic materials like polyester; and low heat for delicate garments.

The dryer still uses a lot of energy and an hour of drying will cost you €1.30. Dry similar types of laundry together for more time efficiency. It could enable you to do 60 minutes charge and 120 minutes charge. It would cost 25% less than two 120-minute charges. Properly managing your load will reduce your energy consumption, but your clothes should also last longer.

The same goes for the dishwasher. If you make sure it's full, you don't have to run it more than once.

Draft proof your home

This can be one of the most effective ways to reduce your energy consumption. By blocking unwanted gaps that let in cold and warm air, you use less energy to heat your home, reducing energy consumption and staying comfortable in the winter. These gaps can be found under doors, mailbox or window seals...

As all mammys know, turn off the dip!

Heating up your dive can cost you €1.67 per hour. By getting a timer, you can eliminate any waste of energy. Getting a timer can ensure you have hot water when you need it. You can also keep this water warm by using insulation or an insulating sleeve during the dive.

Around 6.12 million apartments were sold in 2021. While many, if not most, of these homes were intended for individual buyers to live in, some were intended for real estate investors.

Some of these investors will simply hold onto the property until they can sell it for a profit. Others will turn them into rental properties.

Buying a traditional 2,500 square foot home is not the only home investing method, however. You can also invest in prefabricated houses.

Not sure what this means for your potential future investments? Read on for the basics you need to know about investing in manufactured homes.

What are prefabricated houses?

Most likely the term you have heard of is camper or caravan. Although many people use the terms RV and prefab as if they are the same thing, this is not the case.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development took RV building codes and safety seriously in the mid-1970s. RVs are homes built prior to these new building codes. The houses built after the changes are prefab houses that meet the requirements.

In short, a prefab home is a house that is completely or nearly finished in a factory. Then it is sent to where the owner has the land and zoning to place it.

Benefits for Investors

Prefab homes offer several key benefits to investors. At the top of the list is the acquisition cost. While a traditional home can cost anywhere from $300,000 to $400,000, a prefab home typically costs around $111,000.

This means you can get three prefabs for the price of one. With lower upfront costs, you can maximize your return on investment with rental.

Prefab homes are also ideal for young singles who are primarily focused on advancing their early careers. They want affordable housing until they get their first raise. This makes prefabricated houses an attractive option for the cost-conscious young professional.

Prefab homes generally take a more conservative, evergreen approach to interior design. For example, they prefer neutral interior colors over more modern options that might turn off potential renters.

Things to consider in a prefab home

If you are considering investing in a prefab rental home(s) then you need to make sure you take a few important things into consideration. For example, you should make sure you pay close attention to your town or city's zoning laws.

You also needprefabricated home insurance to protect your investment.

Prefabs and you

A prefab home or multiple prefab homes can be a good investment for those interested in rental property. In most places, at least, you should expect the upfront cost to be much lower than when buying a traditional home.

This lower price allows you to increase your profits while offering a cheaper rental. This can attract young professionals who want to focus more on their careers than home.

Column by Mary Lowther: Treat your tools like your best friends - Lake Cowichan Gazette

By Mary Lowther

While gardening for someone else, I learned the hard way how to remove dirt from tools when I'm done with them. In honor of my employer, he saved my face the following week when he took me to the tool shed and confided that "someone" hadn't cleaned the tools before putting them away, explaining that wet dirt that got on the tools remains, may rust. the metal. and rotten wood. I agreed and nodded wisely as I secretly promised to educate myself on tool care.

Some authors recommend having a bucket of sand moistened with oil to soak the shovel after removing dirt buildup, advice I faithfully followed, only to find that I would need two rags: one to remove the dirt, before I dip the tool into the oil sand. , and another to clean the oily sand afterwards. It takes room to shake out the two cloths and keep them separate the next time you're in a rush to get in and put dinner on the table, and who has time for that? The best I can do is clean the tool, put it away and oil it with the other tools in the fall, but I know I can do better.

Fall is here now and it's time to give my tools an extra good cleaning, wash if necessary and treat them like my best friends, assuming my friends like to be scrubbed and oiled. First I inspect the wood for cracks and chips by running my hand over the handle of each tool and then sanding it smooth. If that doesn't work, I have David fix the cracks and keep reminding him until he fixes them or gets me a new one. No crap, just good management. I check metal parts for rust, sand them down, then sharpen shovels, hoes, loppers and anything else that needs sharpening.

Once the tools look healthy, I dampen a rag with tung oil and go over the wood and metal parts to create a waterproof barrier to prevent rust and deterioration during winter storage. I spray moving parts with three-in-one oil and then store all tools in a dry, weather-protected place.

The wheelbarrow gets a little extra treatment because it does all the heavy lifting. Everything is scrubbed, cleaned, sanded and oiled and taken to OK Tire to have the tire repaired and refilled if necessary.

Some gardeners recommend painting the handles of all tools a light color to make them easier to find in the middle of gardening, and you could do that this year. Someone remaining anonymous to protect the perpetrators recently lost his beloved friend while planting some edible chestnut trees, so maybe he should paint his own too. Mind you, if he buries her again it won't help much.

Woman's 'amazing' floor cleaning trick divides the internet - Yahoo Lifestyle

Everyone has little tricks when it comes to tidying up , but one woman's smudge trick completely split the internet. The woman, known as Tanya, runs a popular Facebook page called Tanya Home Inspo , where she shares cleaning tips with her 198,000 followers.

Tanya demonstrated how to keep her home clean, tidy and organized on a budget.

Using his self-proclaimed "mind trick," he shows how he keeps his water clean while cleaning the floors in his home.

Suggestion for cleaning floors

Using a separate bucket and container, one woman shared her trick for cleaning floors, though not everyone thought her idea was a winner. Image: Facebook.

Tanya places another smaller container in the water area with Vileda's popular mop bucket. Fill the container with clean, boiling water, set the mop up and clean the floor before mopping as usual. Dirty water is flushed from the mop into the larger bucket, keeping the water in the bowl clean. "This way you're only using clean water to clean your floors," she wrote in her roll.

Her video quickly garnered more than 25,000 likes and 1,400 comments, surprising many of her followers with her great advice. "That's a great idea! Very smart," gushed one person, while another added, "Thanks! I just bought a separate bucket but this one is so much better!"

Mop bucket with a small container inside

By placing a container in her spinning bucket, the woman completely split her followers over whether the floor cleaning trick actually worked. Image: Facebook

But not everyone was convinced. Some subscribers didn't quite get it, while others said it was completely "unnecessary."

"But you always put your dirty mop in there to wet it again," one person commented, while another added, "It's really useless because ... you dip the mop in the solution with the cleaner, wring it out, wipe it clean." ." dirty floor and then... where do you rinse the dirty mop??

"There are some bad 'tricks' out there, this one is so awful I wonder if it's satire!" write a third person.

IN RELATION TO

Others have tried to explain how the trick works. "The trick is...when you wipe and wring the mop, the dirty water goes into the bucket and you don't put the dirty water back into the cleaning solution in the white container," wrote one follower.

Sweep up a bucket of dirty water and cleaning solution into a smaller container

Many called the woman's idea "useless" because the dirty mop turned into clean water anyway. Image: Facebook

Still unconvinced, some people said it was more work with two buckets to clean up at the end rather than one.

"You have to rinse the mop along the way... so clean water doesn't stay clean unless you have a separate bucket for that. And judging by the color of the water, it definitely needs rinsing," commented one viewer. .
