Abused your washing machine, reveals viral cleaning trick - New York Post

A cleaning expert has come up with an ingenious way to keep your washing machine in top condition.

Irish TikTok star Laura de Barra shared the advice in a video released to her 27,000 followers earlier this year.

This is the little drawer you put your clothes in before turning on the device.

"You may be wondering why your dispenser drawer is stuck on the fabric softener and not using the full amount you put in each wash," said De Barra, 35.

Then pull out the drawer on your washing machine to reveal the cause of the problem.

It turns out that the inside of the device contains "spray holes", as De Barra puts it, which pumps water into the drawer to drain the contents into the keg.

These holes are often clogged with traces of electricity, limescale, or mold, which means your detergent or fabric softener is not washing effectively.

"If you find that a section is not fully collected during a cycle, it likely means that the spray ports are clogged," said de Barra.

"It's almost always the fabric softener department. "

To remedy this, the former London property manager recommends cleaning the inside of the washing machine.

To do this, remove the dispenser drawer from your machine according to the instructions supplied with the machine.

In the space left by the drawer, there are holes in the ceiling of your machine.

De Barra started his video by explaining how to use the small drawer on his washing machine.

Scrub these holes with an old toothbrush or toothbrushes. Make sure you clean it gently so as not to damage your machine.

"Toothbrushes are great because they are small enough to fit in injection holes like this one," said de Barra.

"The bristles are soft enough for the gums not to damage the machine."

If you have a particularly stubborn mold attack on your machine, de Barra recommends removing the large guns.

Take an old toothbrush and soak it in a mixture of 50 percent vinegar and 50 percent water before scrubbing.

After cleaning the spray holes, the fabric softener should flow out of the dispenser drawer without any problems.

Then Kacie said to vacuum "every other day" and also to clean the vacuum cleaner filter.

"Otherwise you will blow polluted air into the house every time you switch it on," he warned.

Real Estate Agent Explains Why A Clean Smelling Ad Can Be Bad - House Beautiful

When browsing a list of houses you might think that a clean smell is a good thing - a house that smells bad isn't exactly a selling point. But a real estate agent recently shared on TikTok that strong smell of bleach in a home could be a sign of warning .

A few years ago broker @capecchiandco showed a house to potential buyers. "Every time we went there it smelled strongly of chlorine," he said in a TikTok article. "So you think what [the owner] is trying to hide here?" "

It was clear that the house needed work. After viewing the house, they couldn't find anything crazy on site. That is, until the buyers finally close the house and start renovating. As they began to remove the flooring, they discovered a disturbing sight: the sub-floors were completely soaked with urine from the previous owner's pets. "You not only had to trace all the floors, but also the sub-floors and all the decorations," the officer explained in the video.

So next time you visit a home that smells strongly of chlorine each time you visit, you should reconsider your purchase. These cleaning chemicals can cover up a very smelly surprise that can not only be slightly traumatic but also cost more!

Are you dying to know everything before you start your renovation project? We understood. Let's get obsessed with the details together .

The best robot mop we've tested right now is $ 101 on Amazon - it's easy

Every product we offer has been independently selected and reviewed by our editorial team. If you make a purchase using the links included, we may receive a commission.

While some people don't mind the manual work of cleaning your home, many others prefer to automate those tasks with smart devices that do all of the work for you. However, these days you're not limited to cleaning your floors with robotic vacuums that vacuum up dry dust and debris. Robotic mops that work wonderfully on hard surfaces like tile and wood mean you'll never have to remove the rotary mop or Swiffer again.

Therefore, we were pleased that both the iRobot Braava Jet M6 , the best robot for cleaning floors, the we tested , currently a discount has of 101 dollars on Amazon. We recently tested eight different models that included things like spilled lemonade and piles of pudding, and the Braava Jet m6 (which belongs to the same brand that makes Roomba vacuums) turned out to be a clear winner.

Read on to find out more about why our favorite mopping robot is worth buying, especially if it's still for sale.

It works as a wet mop and dry sweeper.

The Braava Jet m6 has a wet and dry function and cleans itself automatically with the appropriate mode, depending on the cleaning pad attached. The box contains everything you need to get started, including a reusable microfiber pad, two disposable wet cleaning pads, two disposable dry wiping pads, and a bottle of cleaning solution. Although the mop requires the brand's custom solution, additional bottles on Amazon are only $ 8 .

When we used Spot-Clean mode to clean soda and syrup, our testers were amazed how it cleaned up the mess without spilling it. It only took five minutes and a few minutes to completely take off the pantyhose. It didn't work that well in our flour test, but it's best to let spills that dry anyway. There is also a regular cleaning mode that cleans your entire home, not just a specific area that has had something spilled.

We also liked that the square shape of the robot mop makes it possible to clean hard-to-reach areas (such as corners) without hitting baseboards and furniture aggressively.

It's packed with smart features.

Setting up the Braava Jet m6 was straightforward, including using the intuitive iRobot App. You can easily download it to your smartphone and connect the mop to WiFi so you can schedule regular cleaning, customize maps and control your device on the go.

As soon as the robot mop is set up and ready to use, it starts mapping your home and mopping in clean rows. It will take some uses before the card is done, but at some point you will know what room it is in and whether or not it needs cleaning. And if there are some areas in your home that you don't want the robot mop to clean, you can set virtual boundaries to avoid entering those areas. It can even recognize carpets and rugs (as well as stairs) so that they don't have to be removed from the floor before each cleaning session.

In addition, the Braava Jet m6 automatically returns to its base to recharge when the battery is low (three hours in our case). As soon as the battery is recharged, the robot mop continues cleaning where it left off.

This is a sale not to be missed.

Although the Braava Jet M6 still at full price is recommended, it is better to him to sell to offer , especially if you can save 101 US dollars US. The presentation brings the smart mop $ 349, which is its lowest price since the beginning of the summer.

Go to Amazon to order one while it's still on sale. If you act quickly, you may be able to get it before Christmas.
