VDEM offers tips for cleaning after the storm

Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM) offers some tips on how to clean up after the storm.

  1. Be sure to wash the walls, hard floors and many other household surfaces with soap and water. It should be disinfected in five liters of water with a combination of a cup of bleach useful.
  2. Clean surfaces that come with food and children's areas very good games in contact.
  3. Wash all linens and clothing in hot water or dry cleaning.
  4. Air dry all the elements that can not be washed or dry cleaned, such as mattresses and upholstered furniture in the sun and then use a disinfectant spray.
  5. Steam clean all carpets for a thorough cleaning.
