Get rid of black mold from your washing machine drawer with an "amazing" 4-step cleaning tip
Washing machines need regular cleaning to stay fresh, and Hinch fans have shown how to make their machine shine with a common household item.
The unit can harbor black mold due to moisture build-up and often requires thorough cleaning. If ignored, the spores can cause clothes to smell musty.
One part of the machine that's particularly bad for mold growth is the detergent drawer, and that cramped space can be difficult to clean, reports the Express .
If you want your washing machine drawer to shine again but don't feel like dazzling with disposables, cleaning geeks have shared their favorite solution: a dishwasher tab.
On a Facebook page featuring Ms Hinch's cleaning tips, the influencer's fans offered help after a woman searched online for tips on how to remove mold from her washing machine drawer.
She wrote: "I was thinking about cleaning out the washing machine drawer. It is currently being soaked in hot water and washing machine detergent but the mildew is tough enough to flake off. Any suggestions?"
At first glance, your washing machine drawer might not look so bad after all. However, once you pull out the drawer and take a closer look, you'll find more soap scum and detergent build-up than you might expect.

Clean freaks were quick to respond, with several urging the woman to take out the drawer and soak it in a pan of boiling water and a dishwasher tablet, or wash it hot with the powder tablet.
One commented: "I found the best way to clean drawers with embedded mold is to put a cheap dishwasher tablet in the drawer and set the wash to 90. That should be nice and clean when you look at it. No need to scrub and amazing results.

Another said: "I always see so many tips recommending expensive cleaning products and hot water works the same way. You may need to add a dishwasher tab, but it's pretty much free and the easiest way.
One person advised: "Take the drawer out of your washing machine and place it in your sink or in a bowl filled with hot water and a dishwasher tablet. Leave it for a few hours, it would be better overnight, and the mold will have dissolved.

There are many reasons why mold can grow in your washing machine drawer, including too much detergent, which can lead to soap scum that can stick and turn into mold.
Even regular washing at temperatures below 40 degrees can leave residue, which makes it easier for mold and dirt to grow. Mold in the washing machine drawer is not only unsightly, it can also invade the washing machine and imprint itself on the laundry in the drum.
This can cause your machine and clothes to smell musty and moldy; So if you've noticed this smell appearing after a trip, you're probably dealing with a mild mold problem.
Regular cleaning and cleaning of this compartment is crucial to stopping mold. The longer the surface remains unplastered, the greater the mold growth.
One person suggested: "For my drawer, I took them out and soaked them in hot water with a dishwasher tab. Leave on for about an hour and then rinse. It's like new now.

Another replied: "Put a dishwasher tablet in a 90C wash with a dishwasher tablet in it. Then once a month add white vinegar or soda crystals to the drum and wash at 90 degrees.
One wrote: "You should be able to pull the giveaway back it's adding up fast. Also, I started putting two dishwasher tabs in the drum and washing them in hot water. It's OK. It cleans everything inside and it smells nice.
Another commented: "I put a dishwasher tablet in my washing machine once a month at 40c which breaks down all the limescale that has built up around the seal and in the pipes and gives it a fresh smell. »
Dishwasher tabs are designed to fight hard water, remove stains and dissolve grease, so it's not surprising that they can be used to clean things outside of the dishwasher.
A pack of 30 dishwasher tabs can be bought from Asda for £1.34. This equates to 4p per tablet. This cleaner is also available in other major supermarkets including Sainsbury's and Tesco.
To keep washing machines from getting moldy, Hinch's fans suggested leaving the drawer open. One said: "Always leave your washing machine drawer open as often as you can. This will help with a lot less mold and dirt.

It's time to wash up. Follow these steps to easily clean your yoga mat - CNET Leer en español
Whether you're practicing hot yoga or streaming a vinyasa class at home, your yoga mat will eventually get dirty and smelly.
Yoga mats appear to be quite durable, but they are made from materials that can spoil quickly if cleaned incorrectly or used with the wrong products. Follow these simple steps to keep your yoga mat long lasting and fresh and germ-free .
But first ! Because yoga mats are made from many different materials, it's always best to get cleaning instructions from the company that made your mat. If they are not available, follow the tips below.
So you know when to wash your yoga mat
Lots of downward dogs and vinyasa currents can cause your yoga mat to accumulate sweat, lint, skin oil, and other debris. They also get that weird smell of bacteria on their skin and sweat.
Once dirt, grime, or a bad odor builds up on your yoga mat, it's time to clean it. Depending on how often you practice, you'll reach this point every few weeks or every month.
It's important to note that yoga mats are designed to be sticky. This provides the support you need to hold your position in slippery poses - a downward-facing dog can be impossible to hold on a slick carpet. When cleaning, be careful not to rub so hard that you remove the sticky surface.
Hand wash your yoga mat
You can always wash your yoga mat by hand. This is like:
1. Mix two cups of warm water with two drops of mild dish soap in a bucket.
2. Dip a cleaning cloth into the mixture and wipe both sides of the mat to remove dirt or stains. Do not use scrubbing brushes as they can abrade the material.
3. Then rinse the rug with lukewarm water and hang to dry. Be sure to hang it in a place that is not exposed to direct sunlight. Sunlight can also damage the material.
4. When the yoga mat is dry, spray it with a disinfectant specially formulated for yoga mats. Some spray options include Luna Cleansing Spray and Aurorae Yoga Mat Wash Cleaner . Read the label carefully before applying the spray to your carpet.
5. You may need to air dry the spray for a few minutes or soak it in the carpet to kill bacteria.

If washing your hands seems like too much, you might be able to throw your yoga mat in the washing machine.
1. Use a mild detergent such as Woolite or Dreft. Make sure you wash it with warm water on gentle or hand wash cycle.
2. When cleaning is complete, allow the mat to air dry and then spray with the disinfectant spray.
3. Again, check your yoga mat manufacturer's cleaning tips before proceeding as washing could damage your yoga mat, especially if you have a top loading machine. The agitator can nick or tear the carpet during washing.
What to do if you don't clean thoroughly
Since you only need to deep clean your carpet a few times a month, you'll need to do a little cleaning in between on the other days.
After each use, spray your mat with a mat sanitizing spray after each workout. This will keep your mat from smelling like sweat and help prevent the spread of any germs you may have collected on your yoga studio floor.

Organization expert Anita Birges has made kitchen decluttering even easier by sharing some of her best tricks for those forgotten areas.
You can watch the video above to see all of his tips.
cutting boards
We're not talking about washing your cutting board after use, we hope you don't forget to do that.
What we mean here are those stains and dirt that seem to stick to your boards and make them look so bad you want to throw them away.
Well, save some money and put away your cutting boards because you can make them look new again with a deep cleaning, which Birges suggests every three months.
To clean a wooden board, he recommends sprinkling a generous amount of baking soda onto the surface, then squeezing the juice of half a lemon over it.

"With the remaining lemon, rub it in small circular motions," he explains.
"The baking soda will help remove any stains or odors on the board and the lemon acts as a natural disinfectant."
Finally, use a warm, damp towel to clean.
For the soiled plastic board, follow the same method as above for the wooden cutting board, but instead of cleaning it with baking soda and lemon juice, let sit for 10 minutes.
Then take the board to the sink, pour white vinegar over it, scrub with steel wool or a scouring pad, and then rinse.
The article continues below.
wooden spoon
This is another item that you've probably washed after use but haven't really given a thought to the grease and dirt that accumulates over the years.
Once again, the process is quite simple.
"All you have to do is boil some water, fill a cup and leave your wooden spoon in it for a few minutes. You'll see all the dirt and stains go away," says Birges. .
After soaking, use a scouring pad to scrub the spoon off of this layer of slime and your spoon will be fresh and clean again.
tin opener
Well, it's definitely one that doesn't even get rinsed or wiped down after you get your hands on it, so it's time for a thorough cleaning.
"I have a great cleaning solution and all you need is baking soda. Sprinkle it on some steel wool and rub it in really well, it gets really shiny," says Birges.
After scrubbing, rinse the can opener and you're done.

Tips for tidying up your closet - The Daily Californian

From time to time I have to clean out my closet. Maybe it's because I've run out of hangers and need to move all the jeans in my closet, or maybe I found something I can't even remember. Whatever the reason, it comes to mind that I need to donate items. The problem for me, unfortunately, is that I tend to hoard my clothes. No matter how seldom I wear it or how outdated it is, I tell myself I'll miss it one day. So over the years I've compiled a list of some of the best tips to make decluttering my closet easier.
suspension trick
This trick is especially useful for students who move around a lot. Every time I move to a new place, I put my hangers back in my closet. When I put my clothes on and hung them up, I hung them upside down as they were originally. After a few months, if there are hangers left in a room that haven't been returned, it's usually time to donate them. This trick helps me get really realistic about what I'm actually using. It's the best way to free up valuable space in my cluttered closet. This simple trick shows that what's in your closet isn't being used and it's better to donate it.
force yourself to put it on
This tip is for those who always pretend to wear something but never find an outfit that fits. If you still have a few clothes that haven't been combed in months, here's what you can do. Go through your closet and take out everything you haven't worn in a while. Force yourself to wear something from this bunch every day. If you end up using it and loving it, then it's perfect for storing. On the other hand, if you just can't find an outfit to wear with it or keep wearing it, it's probably best to donate it. This will help get rid of clothes that you may have worn a lot but are no longer for you.
change clothes
This latest idea is for all the series buyers out there. If you keep coming home with new parts but never have room for them, this can help. When I've had periods of having too much stuff in my closet, I usually compromise. For every piece of clothing I buy or receive, I have to donate a piece of clothing from my closet. It helps me keep my wardrobe to a minimum and really helps me figure out if something is worth buying. While it may seem difficult at first, keeping your wardrobe to a minimum and being mindful of what you buy really helps.
Hopefully this guide will help you next time you need to get rid of clothes. All the simple little things are the best way to free up some space in your closet this year!
Watch Carrie Underwood finish the AMA red carpet in a sparkling low-cut dress
Country queen Carrie Underwood is doing us a favor by taking a little break from touring to show everyone what a big red carpet moment really is. Finished!
Before the 17-time AMA winner stole the show with an acrobatic performance at this year's American Music Awards, he also made sure to steal the red carpet. Earlier this month, Carrie stunned in a blue dress when she arrived at the CMA Awards , and her latest event look is still 10/10.
The "Pink Champagne" singer walked the carpet this year in a form-fitting maxi dress that sparkled like the two awards she was nominated for on the big night. Tony Ward's sparkly dress seemed tailor-made for Carrie, as it featured a plunging neckline and, of course, a high slit to showcase what fans consistently call "country music's best legs."
Staying true to her denim & rhinestone glam era , the 39-year-old completed the stunning look with statement earrings and silver-studded heels because there's "no such thing as too much glitter" — no, right?
Once Carrie shared her red carpet look on Instagram with the caption: "So happy to be on the red carpet at @amas!!! Can't wait to perform!!!" Fans bombarded the star's comments section:
- "The most beautiful person with muscular legs like bombs 😍🧡"
- "A 10 would be an understatement!!"
- "Wow those legs 🦵"
- "I love the dress! Stunning and so strong!"
Even her husband, Mike Fisher , joined us and added a quick "😍😍".
From dominating the red carpet in a stunning gown to giving a "sky high" performance, fans never got a chance to recover as Carrie's performance was truly the highlight of the evening.

The singer swapped her dress for a sparkling off-the-shoulder jumpsuit while performing "Crazy Angels" from her latest album .

Unfortunately, Carrie didn't win any AMAs this year, but with a successful tour and dedicated fans, that's probably the least of her worries. In the meantime, let's relive the incredible evening by watching the show, available to stream on Hulu !

Remove "stubborn stains" from your grout in just 30 minutes with "simple" household items

He exclusively told Express.co.uk : "As much as we clean them, bathrooms can start to look a little dirty when the tub and grout turn yellow.
"Cleaning grout from everyday dirt and debris is as simple as mixing two parts baking soda to one part water and scrubbing in circular motions with a tile brush, nail brush, or old toothbrush.
"If your grout is looking a little less worn, you can still remove heavy staining and yellowing. To remove stains between tiles, mix two parts baking soda to one part vinegar and scrub with a stiff-bristled brush.
"For brittle tiles, mix two parts baking soda to one part hydrogen peroxide. For particularly stubborn stains, allow the mixture to sit in the grout for 30 minutes before scrubbing, then wipe with a damp cloth.
