Most of today baitcasters almost balls stand up to the rigors of the environment fishing trip and post-trip execution.

But the maintenance allow investment (some of the best roles cost a lot of money) takes years. And it is more than spray your role or soaking in a bucket of water.

In fact, none of these methods give place grain and impurities deep coil operation.

Instead, only clean your wheels after every ride.

For a more in depth cleaning, follow these step by step instructions.

Remember, carefully open the case, because there are springs and bolts that could come loose and roll under the furniture or crack in his workshop. I promise each of these parts are required for proper operation.

Glide: This is one of the most overlooked elements in a coil, but a brake system works can be the difference between landing that lunker and let in water.

After every journey you should solve the Drags on rolls to prevent sticking. The fat is each time adjusted by the brake disk, the system helps solve the distributed Dragstar to reduce fat.

And at least once a year (twice a year for those of us fishing and salt water brackish environments), where he picked up by fat scratched and replaced with fresh grease only Teflon based slides. If no visible window, use a screwdriver to scrape the fat before.

Anti-rollback: Do not lubricate that level. Never. If you feel that the level is causing problems, it is time to turn to a professional role.

Stock: Modern bearings are virtually maintenance free, but if the coil stick, it's probably a bearing problem. The only two bearings may be a problem in that the bearing of the spool and is disposed at each gable end of the coil. Just remove the side plate, dip a cotton swab in alcohol and clean each level. Place one on each level of oil and close the case of the coil.

Ratchet wheel / worm: you really do not want to try to take the part of the coil, as it is quite difficult to get back together. However, you can use some simple green and solvent to clean toothbrush. Dry them with a cotton cloth and a drop of oil. That's it.
