Tips for keeping your fireplace clean and smells good

Fireplaces can a hot shot to give, welcoming glow to any home. But a little effort is required to obtain their appearance - and the smell - nice.

  • Before cleaning your fireplace, it is a good idea, a mask or respirator, put on almost any hardware store. Prolonged exposure to creosote that builds up the chimney is not good for the lungs.

Just be careful on the stairs and the roof!
  • If you hire a chimney sweep, make sure there is a qualified company that has insurance and workers' compensation insurance.
  • Finally, if you use your fireplace, be dry wood, not green. It is better and more efficient burn.
