Clean freaks share an ingenious £1 solution to removing kitchen grease stains from surfaces - InYourArea

Cleaning enthusiasts have discovered an easy way to remove unsightly grease stains, which are a common problem on kitchen surfaces and can be difficult to remove.

The tip came after a woman in Ms Hinch's 'cleaning tips' group posted on Facebook to seek advice. She wrote: "How do I get rid of grease stains on my kitchen cabinets? Thanks in advance."

Cleaning enthusiasts were quick to offer advice, with most users recommending Elbow Grease, which can be bought for the pound, costing just £1. The usual "all purpose degreaser" is said to be safe for use on fabrics, metals and plastics. and is suitable for kitchen surfaces, carpets, microwaves and grills.

Fansite users rated the product "amazing" in comments, saying it "worked great" and "saved lives." Another said, "Elbow Grease Spray is great for any type of grease."

Several users have agreed on the effectiveness of this product, with one writing: "Hot soapy water, elbow grease wash fluid and dry. Do not use harsh chemicals as they will remove the protective coating."

Other suggestions included Mr Muscle Oven Cleaner, Cif Cream, Pink Stuff Paste, Sugar Soap, and Backing Soda Spray, or just warm soapy water. As one advised, "Use the all-purpose antibacterial wipes to start, then use the kitchen cleaner to finish. The cloths remove dirt, it takes a bit of scrubbing but you will be surprised what they remove."
