And it wasn't hard to understand why.

The customer had purchased an item from Le Creuset for just $3.99.

"My first Dutch oven," they said.

There was no doubt that they were lucky to get a good deal.

A unique 5.5-quart Le Creuset Dutch oven costs $420.

The cookware should be made of enameled cast iron to ensure efficient heat distribution and retention.

Its airtight lids are designed to return moisture to the food , while its ergonomic buttons make lifting easier.

It might have taken a little cleaning , but with that savings they were up to the challenge of scrubbing.

For the brand's Limited Lifetime Warranty to apply, you must follow the instructions provided. This warranty covers normal household use only.

The warranty is intended for the original retail customer or a consumer who receives the product as a gift from the original customer.

If a customer sells or transfers a product, the warranty is void.

This Limited Lifetime Warranty begins on the date of purchase and never expires.

The Brand shall not be liable for any damage caused by misuse, commercial or non-consumer use, negligence, unusual wear and tear or overheating.

"Yes, I support it. Always start with the least invasive/abrasive option and work your way up," another user wrote.

After scrubbing the glass, the original poster presented his findings in the comments.

"It worked great. There appears to be a small chip in the enamel beneath the dirt," they replied.

Many commenters encouraged them to contact Le Creuset and said they could easily get a free replacement.

"Your guarantee is no joke. I dropped my dutch oven and they replaced it for free," one user said.

"I just bought a Le Creuset in the store and the brochure says it has a lifetime guarantee no matter where you get it. I would definitely call her," said another Reddit reader.

"I bought a 20+ year old Le Creuset on Facebook and quickly realized the glaze on the bottom was damaged," said one user.

"So I filed a complaint on their website, including photos. A representative responded a few days later and said that while the damage was due to user error, they would replace the oven as a courtesy.

"I didn't pay the shipping. The process went smoothly."

However, others insisted that it was not that simple.

Le Creuset states that its Limited Lifetime Warranty is intended only for the original retail customer or a consumer who received the product as a gift.

Furthermore, it only covers normal household use.
