FRIDAY, June 1, 2018 1:25 pm - It's time of the year again things start to warm up in much of the country, and cars can be affected by extreme means if owners are not careful.

While the drivers can only feel the temperature in the car, there is also a lot of heat under the hood. We've put together some of the best care tips before you leave this summer.

Have your cooling system checked

When was the last time I pulled my hood up to see what happened there? If you had to watch during the hot summer days, you will find that your cooling system is working overtime.

Its cooling system works to keep the vehicle engine from overheating and your car can cause it to fail if you work too hard. This is one of the main reasons for the car's failure in the summer. You can avoid a collapse this summer that will check your cooling system from the heatwave to ensure that leaks, is clean, check plugs, cable ties and straps, and that the coolant is flushed in and completed last year

Tire pressure and changing weather do not mix

Only the slightest change in the weather, even 10 degrees, can lead to lower air pressure. Against this backdrop, summer heat and cooler nights can cause a change in pressure.

Technically, it can move up to 1-2 psi. A flat tire at high temperatures or even low fuel consumption can burst, so tire pressure and tire wear must be monitored to ensure safe and avoid excess frequency of the fuel pump.

Clean engine, flexible handling

Knowing what you put into the engine is important, especially when it comes to extreme weather conditions. Engine oil must protect and clean the engine under all conditions, but at higher temperatures of conventional engine oil, it can thicken and leave the mud motor impacting its performance.

Synthetic engine oils such as Mobil 1 Advanced Performance ™ have been tested and proven engines are designed to last longer and hot under extreme conditions than traditional engine oils. Knowing and following the engine oil introduced into the engine keeps it clean and your car runs smoothly.

Brake pads can break in the hottest months

When exposed to high temperatures in summer, brake pads and vehicle rotors are more susceptible to wear and tear. In addition, intermittent traffic can also damage your brake pads.

If you hear squeaks or strange noises from your brake pads, you should have them checked immediately. Rotors and skids are not cheap to replace, so it is advisable to check them before the hottest summer months.

Make sure your air conditioner can handle the heat

The most obvious summer vehicle preparation for many is the air conditioning. How long should someone wait to make sure it works?

If you wait for the summer heat to test your air conditioner, you might be in a rude awakening. Be careful in the spring and program air conditioning before the heat really starts. A partially functioning system is as good as a system that does not work in many hot areas of the country.
