This is why we are overloading our homes for Lockdown 2.0

With Lockdown 1.0, we've been confined to our homes for longer than ever. In a crazy time when our standards were being stolen from us and an incredible situation left us with little control as humans, we dedicated ourselves to controlling what we could: our homes.

Given the need for our humble dining table to become a home office, school for kids, playroom, and a quiet place to eat (sometimes at the same time), the no wonder nation began to clear up. Getting rid of the things we didn't need and making more room to breathe for our new little world was cathartic and gave us back a sense of empowerment.

And now we're at Lockdown 2.0, the winter edition. And surprisingly, we set out to stuff our houses again. We give up clean and minimalist lines and fill our houses with sentimental elements that remind us of happier times! Think cottage core and similar trends that embrace the art of clutter.

The household brand Silver Mushroom saw a 300% increase in sales in frames and decorative items. Although we may not be able to see our friends and family, we surround ourselves with photos of them with a sense of hope for better times.

It goes without saying that your home environment can affect your emotions. While sunbathing in the garden isn't an option to lighten your mood during this time, surround yourself with things that make you happy. From lovely souvenir photos to your favorite artwork, motivational sayings, super-soft bedding or even a new mug, it's time to take control of what you (still) can do to keep your mood up. flow.
