Hand wash your car in seven easy steps

Gather the Right Materials - Before you start cleaning your car, you need to make sure you have the right tools and chemicals for the job. Avoid using detergent as it can negatively affect the paintwork of your car. When shopping for car wash soap, be sure to use a sheepskin or microfiber washcloth. Have two buckets and a drying cloth ready.

Pre-treating stains: If you have to clean particularly unsightly parts, first hit them directly with the soap. Spraying hard-to-clean stains like bird droppings or dead insects will make it easier to remove later.

Rinsing and Washing: After quickly rinsing your car with the hose , use two buckets and gloves to start cleaning. One bucket should hold clean, soapy water while the other should hold running water for rinsing. This ensures that you do not wash your car in dirty water. Make sure you wash, rinse, and repeat both buckets.

Think about the wheels - it's easy to forget about the wheels , but these hard-working components are often the dirtiest part of a dirty car. First spray them with a hose so they are nice and damp. After that, use a soft brush to remove dust, dirt and debris.

Do it all over again: rinse and refill your soap bucket again. Use your soft glove to give the surface of your car one final pass. This ensures that no dirty spots are overlooked and gives the surface additional shine.

The final rinse: after completing your single run, remove the spray nozzle from your hose and wash your car with the fresh water jet from top to bottom. This will remove dirt and soap from the surface.

Dry it off - Use your dry cloth to quickly clean your car and collect as much water as possible. After the first cleanup, give another pass, this time focusing on any spots you might have missed the first time. The end result should be a shiny, dirt-free car.
