'accelerates the cleaning of drains, manholes' | News from Patna - Times of India

Patna: Patna Municipal Corporation ( PMC ) Commissioner Animesh Parashar on Tuesday inspected drain and manhole cleaning works in various areas under Patliputra county to ensure water does not pool in the locality during the monsoon season.
He urged the officials involved to speed up the work and complete the sewer cleaning on schedule.
During inspections at Rajvanshi Nagar , Mohanpur and Anandpuri Nullah, Prashar found that the roadside sediments had not been removed after the culverts were cleaned, resulting in unsanitary conditions for local residents living in the areas. He ordered the immediate suspension of the health inspector of Pavilions 7 and 20.
"The hygiene inspector was given notices of breach of duty. Garbage was found strewn in two rooms after the drains were cleaned. Local residents also complained that the area was not cleaned after the sand was removed from the drains. Such negligence will not be tolerated as clear instructions have been given to the officials in charge of preparing the pre-monsoon citizenship," Parashar said.
The city commissioner also ordered relevant officials to repair the dilapidated Anandpuri highway, which was closed to public works. During the inspection, a road in similar condition was found near the biscuit factory in Ananduri. "All broken and punctured roads must be repaired within the next 24 hours," he said.
Also present at the inspection were Municipal Commissioner Sheila Irani , Executive Officer (Patliputra) Pratibha Sinha, 23rd Ward Councilwoman Prabha Devi , and other civil society officials.
