Samsung enters the vacuum cleaner category in Indian BusinessToday

Entertainment technology giant Samsung has made a foray into a new category in the Indian market. The South Korean tech giant has launched the Samsung Jet cordless vacuum cleaner, which could provide direct competition to British company Dyson's offerings. Unlike some global markets like the United States, United Kingdom, European Union and Japan to name a few where vacuum cleaners are the standard cleaning method, the Indian market is dominated by traditional sweeping and wet mopping. But since the Covid-19 pandemic, sales of vacuum cleaners of all types have increased.

"With an increased focus on safety, health and hygiene in the post-pandemic era, consumers are looking for streamlined and efficient home cleaning solutions. Equipped with advanced technology, such as multi-layer filter system, vacuum cleaner can capture 99.999%. of fine dust and allergens and ensures hygienic and powerful cleaning. Despite Samsung Jet's exceptionally strong absorbency, its body has been designed to be lightweight so that our consumers can enjoy Jet's user-friendly features more conveniently," said Mohandeep Singh, Senior Vice President, Consumer Electronics Business, Samsung India.

Samsung initially launched three models: Jet 70, Jet 75 and Jet 90, with prices ranging from Rs 36,990 to Rs 52,990. Samsung claims that the vacuum cleaners produce up to 200W of suction power and offer powerful cleaning. as they house a digital inverter motor that includes an ultrasonically welded cover and diffuser that optimize airflow.

As a result, the Samsung Jet maintains the high level of energy efficiency required to generate significant suction power. Cordless vacuums come with a replaceable battery that provides up to an hour of cleaning time. Samsung has included a range of accessories, including a soft-action brush for cleaning fine dust on hard floors, a turbo-action brush with a 180-degree rotating head for carpets and rugs with almost 3750 rpm, a mini-turbo brush for dust particles and Pets hair on sofas, beds and mattresses. Also, the box with the Spinning Sweeper comes with a disposable damp cloth that allows for a cleaning time of up to 80 minutes. The entire tank, including the multi-cyclone system, is fully washable to keep it hygienically clean.
