Portland, Maine (AP) _ teams of volunteers are cleaning more than 50 sites of illegal dumping in Maine as a thank you to the owners to access private areas for recreation.
Readers Cleaning Validation landowners day takes place on Saturday. Rangers have other recreational groups and the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife state build teams worked with the Maine Snowmobile Maine, Maine ATV Association to clean the sites.
State officials say that access to land is threatened by illegal dumping and waste.
