A MOTOR expert has revealed how you can reduce noise and improve drivability by simply cleaning the door panel - and all you need is soap and water.
Cars are complex, high-tech pieces of engineering that work together to transport you from one place to another.
Numerous components ensure comfortable and safe transport.
As a responsible vehicle owner, important parts should be well maintained and cleaned regularly.
Dirt and grime can accumulate on some parts, causing rapid wear of the components.
Regular, thorough maintenance, including proactive cleaning , can prevent long-term damage.
But as expert Kayla Keena reveals, that doesn't necessarily mean you need expensive specialty products or toil for hours.
To keep door seals clean and in good condition, all you need is water and a mild soap, says Kayla.
With its simple application, you can remove accumulated dirt and debris and "breathe new life into your car door seals".
And a mild detergent only costs a few cents and lasts a long time.

Many drivers overlook the importance of cleaning door seals and tend to forget about it.
But as Kayla points out, they play an important role in keeping the temperature in the car "comfortable in all seasons."
They can also help minimize outside noise in the cabin.
When your door seals are working properly, they can ensure the door stays closed and keeps insects and debris out.
However, they wear out over time and age, and regular use can affect their durability and proper performance.

Other car parts that need to be cleaned regularly and can be forgotten
catalyst
Another important part that Kayla recommends cleaning regularly but that people tend to forget is the catalytic converter.
It is part of the vehicle's exhaust system and helps filter harmful pollutants, ensuring emissions are safe.
However, over time, these contaminants can build up along with dust and dirt and ultimately clog the exhaust.
Kayla says the catalytic converter needs to be cleaned regularly, but it's a fairly simple task.
All you have to do is add some cleaner to your tank and run it through the exhaust system.
This will remove any blockages and everything will run smoothly again.
Inner lining
Kayla also recommends cleaning the interior upholstery regularly.
Years of use can cause significant wear and tear, and if you don't clean it regularly, it can all build up and make your car look older than it actually is.
The expert says you just need to vacuum it thoroughly every few months to remove any dirt or pet hair that may have accumulated.
Also remove trash such as old bottles, bags and clothing.
You may also want to invest in an upholstery cleaner to remove stains and odors.
Kayla said: "Maintaining a car is the most important thing you can do if you want to be a responsible owner, and an important part of that is regular, thorough cleaning."
