Wilton Fish & Game postpones the weapons cleaning workshop

Proper cleaning of a firearm is essential for safe and reliable operation. Wilton Fish & Game postponed a public firefighting workshop at the club on Saturday, December 14, at 1:00 pm, with a snowy day for the next day.

WILTON - The Wilton Fishing and Hunting Association has postponed a firearms cleaning course canceled due to adverse weather conditions. Deferred lessons will take place on Saturday, December 14, at 1:00 pm at the Club on Route 2 in Wilton. In the snow, the class moves at the same time on Sunday, December 15th.

"A clean firearm is critical to safe and reliable operations," said Alan Paradis, the club's field officer who will lead the workshop. "We want to help those who need it with the basics of weapon maintenance."

The workshop will focus on the safe handling of firearms for disassembly and maintenance, as well as basic maintenance tips and a discussion on tools, cleaning products and lubricants. Participants must bring their unloaded weapon without ammunition and their own cleaning kit and accessories. "We will have supplies available if you do not have them," Paradis said. The workshop will require a $ 5 donation to the club.

The workshop is public as a non-profit association, but participation is limited to 20 people. For more information or to reserve your seat, call Alan Paradis at 207-364-6509.
