We have a chalet at the end of the terrace. The adjoining property is owned by Winchester City Council who have hired a contractor to carry out the restoration. For four days we endured terrible noise from the use of jackhammers. The construction time is expected to be 16 weeks.
We felt that the local authority should have sent out a notice under the Party Wall Law with specific details of the planned work. No such notification has been received.
My wife is currently undergoing chemotherapy; Fatigue associated with insomnia is a side effect of treatment. This means that you have to sleep during the day, which is not possible due to the knock next door.
