What are the main topics at stake as planning for the next iteration of the Sonoma Development Center goes into your final year?
The future of the SDC: A community workshop on planning law and public participation, presented by the Sonoma Land Trust, is planned for January 8, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
SLT employees, partner organizations and key experts are holding an educational workshop and a 2.5-hour training session to explain and demystify what is behind the SDC's planning process for the future.
The workshop includes:
• What is a "specific plan" and how is it developed and approved by Sonoma County for the SDC?
• What role does the State of California play in the specific planning process?
• Develop performance standards to protect the Sonoma Valley Wildlife Corridor and the natural environment while ensuring inclusive and equitable housing development.
