Home hacking expert Carolina McCauley took to social media to share three must-have cleaning hacks you can use to bring your aging shower back to life.

USING A WASH STICK

For a simple cleanup you can do every day, McCauley advised filling the handle of a stirrer with equal parts dish soap and vinegar.

Dish soap is a great cleaning product for showers and baths as it breaks down dirt.

The cleaning mixture comes out of the stick scrubber and settles on tiles, faucets and doors as you scrub.

Because the rinse wand is small and easy to use, you can keep it in the shower for quick cleaning between shampoo rinses.

USE A BRUSH TO SCRUB FLOORS

Give your shower floors a little maintenance with a floor scrubbing brush.

McCauley suggested scrubbing shower floors with a long- handled brush to avoid the awkwardness of bending down or getting on all fours to clean tiles.

Turn on the shower to wet the area, then squeeze dish soap on the shower floor and scrub with the floor brush.

Dish soap works directly with the scrub, so you don't have to leave it on, just run the shower to rinse the mixture off.

Experts recommend cleaning your shower tiles two to three times a week to keep them clean and shiny.

TRY AN ELECTRIC CLEANING MACHINE

For the ultimate deep cleaning, McCauley recommended using an electric scrubber to remove scale , rust, water stains , and limescale.

And while it's an expensive proposition, it will be worth it in the end.

Thanks to the extendable handle, you can easily reach high walls, ceilings, floors and shower screens.

Just squeeze out the detergent and let your electric dishwasher do the work for you, as McCauley said they're "super powerful and convenient".
