From runny noses to sick bugs, dealing with sick children and trying to keep your home germ-free can be difficult.

Luckily, a cleaning genius and mom has shown how to keep your house clean when your kids are accidentally throwing up and spreading germs.

Scottish mum Jen shared her top cleaning tips to protect yourself from sick bugs in a TikTok video on her Clean With Jen account, which has over 300,000 views.

Jen's daughter is currently ill and she showed how she managed to prevent the spread of the disease in her family.

"Let's face it, nothing's worse than a sick bug," he said, "so here are my top tips for cleaning up after one."

Her first trick, which she demonstrates with a raw egg, is how to quickly clean up after an illness.

Jen simply covers the egg with a generous amount of salt and lets it sit for 15 minutes. Sick can be easily cleaned with a minimum of dirt.

Because salt is an absorbent, it absorbs a large amount of liquid, making cleaning much easier.

Finally, Jen scrubs the surface with diluted bleach to kill any germs that may remain.

She claims that by mixing bleach with water, you can use it on your floors and countertops for up to 24 hours.

Then, toss any affected clothes in the washing machine along with some Zoflora to disinfect them.

Jen also recommends that you clean your toilet the conventional way.

Eventually, Jen soaks all the toothbrushes in two sterilizing tablets, throws them away and replaces them with her sick daughter's.
