I bought my 2 year old son a cleaning kit and the trolls criticized me

It's never too early to teach your kids how to do chores, is it?

Lex Delarosa bought her 2-year-old son a cleaning kit and doll to help him understand that cleaning and caring for babies is "not just a girl's thing."

In a TikTok that now has more than 85,000 views, she showed off a variety of cleaning supplies her son had, including a mop, broom and dustpan.

He also had a mini vacuum cleaner, as well as "play food" and a doll that Delarosa said "people have trouble with for some reason."

"Someone told us 'that's weird' when my son used to date his doll," he commented on TikTok.

She wanted her son to be interested in cooking and take responsibility.

Some people in the comments followed Delarosa's parenting technique.

"I think when they're old enough to do a chore but make it look funny, it's really sad when they're only a year old," one person commented.

This prompted Delarosa to film a follow-up video to that comment , in which she explains that her son has a lot of fun cleaning up because "kids love to imitate their parents."

He didn't find it sad to "raise capable children."

There were also supporters in the comments.

"He's never too young to start. Mine was 1 year old when it started too," one person commented.

"You are a great mom! People with their negative opinions should really shut up," said another.

Another mom might even relate to her: "I have a playhouse for my son with a kitchen, the amount of feedback I've had about giving a kid a kitchen," she said. explained.
