There are many hacks online claiming that your dishwashing tabs can do more than just clean dirty dishes and dishes.
We wanted to test some to see if they could effectively clean stoves, clothes, walls, refrigerators, and furniture.

1. Clean a burnt pan
Burnt-on food that sticks to a pan can be difficult to remove and rubbing can damage the coating. One of the best hacks we discovered was using a dishwasher tab to remove any residue.
Just fill your pot with water, put in a dishwasher tablet, put on medium heat and simmer for 10 minutes. This loosens burnt-in residue, making cleaning easier.
However, be sure to read your pan manufacturer's instructions beforehand. This is especially important if you have a non-stick pan, as you don't want to damage the coating.

2. Clean an oven
Keeping your oven in top condition is one of the toughest cleaning tasks in the kitchen, so we wanted to see if a dishwasher tablet could help remove grease and grime.
Our testing gave mixed results, and the tablets cleaned the grates more effectively than the oven doors or walls.
The best way to do this is to soak the racks in a hot tub with a tray for a few hours, but be sure to protect the racks with towels or a rug to avoid scratching the tub.

3. Clean clothes
We wouldn't recommend tossing a dishwasher tablet in your washing machine if you don't have detergent, but they come in handy for tackling stubborn stains.
Soak your dirty clothes in hot water with one tablet overnight before washing and they should come out spotless.
Make sure you only do this on white clothing or you risk bleeding the color.

4. Clean the walls
From food splatters to pencil marks, walls can get dirty in many ways. Could a dishwasher tab be the solution to removing unsightly stains?

5. Clean refrigerators and patio furniture
As with cleaning the walls, a dissolved dishwashing tablet is sufficient for cleaning the inside of your refrigerator and patio furniture.
However, we have found that it is easier, cheaper and faster to use liquid detergent.

6. Clean the vases
If you love having fresh flowers in your home, your glass or crystal vases may be stained or cloudy. It can be difficult to get onto the floor to give them a thorough clean, so we tried a dishwasher tablet to see if that would help.
It would have been great if a tablet of dish soap could fall into the vase to fix the stains, but unfortunately when we tried the results were quite disappointing.
