Mrs. Hinch fans aren't the only ones suggesting that dishwashing tablets can be used to clean toilet bowls, even the cleaning experts at Kitchn have recommended using this staple to descale toilet bowls.
They said: "When it's time to tackle the bathroom, start by throwing a dishwasher tab in the toilet bowl.
"Then do the sink, floor and shower and save the toilet for last. That way the tablet had time to dissolve a bit and should make cleaning the toilet bowl easier. You can also use the tablet to remove dark circles caused by hard water.
Relatively inexpensive dishwashing tablets in packs of 30 can be bought from Asda for £3, that's 1p per tablet. Brits can also buy Wilko powder tablets in a pack of 40 for £3.
