Wilkes-Barre expands yard waste collection and introduces street cleaning program | leader of the time

WILKES-BARRE -- Citywide yard waste collection will be conducted during the week of December 5-9 on Resident Collection Days.

Additionally, the leaf blower and street sweeper will be cleaning the city's streets over the next few weeks, Wilkes-Barre Mayor George Brown announced Tuesday.

"No Parking" signs will be placed on the streets to be cleaned between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.

On Wednesday, cleanups will take place on the even side of North Main Street, from Courtright Street to North Street, and on the odd side of Mill Street, from George Avenue to Matson.

Thursday cleanups will take place on the odd side of North Main Street from North to Courtright Street and on the even side of Mill Street from Matson to George Avenue.

Additional zones will appear during programming.
