CLEAN smarter, not harder – that is the motto of TV presenter Hayley Leitch.
And when she returns to our screens this week as host of Channel 5's new show Dirty Home Rescue, the cleaning expert will be putting her money where her mouth is.
With her team of cleaning professionals, Hayley visits some of the dirtiest homes in the country to help them transform their properties.
From limescale stains in the toilet to bugs in the kitchen, Hayley has seen it all over her decades-long career. But keep learning new tips along the way.
Hayley, who previously starred in Channel 4 series Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners , tells us: "Every house I go into there is always something new to learn or talk about.
"It gives me great satisfaction to find things that may be more delicate than the last cleaning or cleanings I have done in the past."
Learn more about cleaning
Here he tells us how you can keep your home in top condition without spending a lot of money.

Tea bags on the windows
If you don't have a window cleaner at home, Hayley says black tea works great on windows.
"Place your tea bag in a bowl of boiling water. Simmer the tea bag and wait until it cools down a bit," he explains.

"Take an old cloth that you don't have to worry about damaging because it will get stained, then wipe down the windows before drying them with a clean microfiber cloth.
"It works like a charm."
Coffee for dirty pots
Cleaning grease-burned pans can be a nightmare, but Hayley has a free and easy trick. "Use coffee grounds," he says.
"In most cafes you get the coffee grounds in a bag for free. Be sure to call ahead to inquire as you don't want to waste the trip.
"They are very effective at cleaning very stubborn stains on pots and pans. Add some ground coffee to the pot that contains the least amount of detergent. Put on rubber gloves (you don't even need a rag) and rub with your hands.
"The abrasives contained in coffee grounds remove dirt very well.
"Then you can store the coffee grounds in the fridge and reuse them. »
Peeling gloves on tiles
Exfoliating gloves are not only pleasant for your skin, but they also work wonders on your tiles.
"You can buy scrub gloves for around £1 and they are slightly abrasive but not enough to scratch the tiles. But they remove all soap stains," says Hayley.
"Put some dishwashing liquid in the glove and rub the tiles. Rinse and dry them and you're done. It works very well.
She adds, "If you're thinking about using a stronger cleanser, I recommend wearing rubber gloves under your exfoliating gloves to protect yourself. »
Baby shampoo instead of detergent
When washing delicate laundry, detergent can be expensive.
A cheaper alternative is baby shampoo, says Hayley, and she believes it serves the exact same purpose.
"Baby shampoo is really good because it has a neutral pH. With silk or wool, you shouldn't use anything too rough, as they are both natural proteins.
"Don't use it in your washing machine, but it's great if you wash your hands in the sink with cold water."
He adds, "To maintain the shine and softness of silk, add a full cup of white vinegar to the water after washing. »
Flushing in the sink
There's nothing like a spotless sink, and a few simple beauty products can go a long way.
"If you have a streaky stainless steel sink, you can use a pea-sized amount of hair conditioner and rub it in," says Hayley.
"The same goes for stainless steel refrigerators. It is very good at making it shine.
To get rid of bad smells, he advises: "Put about seven drops of tea tree oil and a tablespoon of dish soap in the sink, then pour in some hot water. Tea tree oil is antibacterial and smells great.
"However, if you have pets, you should be careful with tea tree oil as it can be toxic. So keep that in mind.
Clean your blinds with winter gloves
Hayley has the perfect tip for cleaning your blinds from top to bottom.
"Wear a pair of winter gloves," he says. "Wet them with a little dish soap or a multi-surface spray and run your index finger and thumb over each blind.
"If you don't have winter gloves, you can also use an old sock."
Goodbye to fur
Finding hair in your house can be a real cause for concern if you have a furry friend, but Hayley has a simple solution.
"Get a rubber glove and make it your furry pet glove because you don't want to use it for washing dishes!" " She said.
"Wet it with water, shake off the excess water and wipe it over your sofas, curtains and carpets.
"The rubber glove easily catches all the hair."
Dishwashing powder for floors
"If you have hard floors and they are covered in grease and dirt, you can use dishwashing powder with boiling water," says Hayley. "This removes the toughest stains."
When it comes to carpets, Hayley insists you don't need an expensive carpet cleaner to keep your carpets fresh.
"You can successfully clean your carpet by hand by placing a large microfiber cloth on the lid of a large pot. Or you can use an old pillowcase that you don't use instead of a cloth," she says.
"Wrap it around the pot lid, tie it with a rubber band, then let it soak in a solution. I like using organic laundry detergent because it contains enzymes that are supposed to remove protein stains.
"Rub it and then iron it with clean, cold water. Finally, take an old towel and soak the cleaned area to absorb the moisture from the carpet.
Vacuum packed essential oil
Instead of spending money on fancy candles and diffusers, Hayley has a simple tip to keep your home smelling fresh.
"Select your favorite essential oil, put a few drops on a cotton ball and then place it in the vacuum cleaner box. "It makes the whole house smell amazing," he says.
"Lemon essential oil works very well.
