A woman discovers her husband's affair after their house turns green for an unexpected reason

A woman who asked for cleaning tips got more than she bargained for after finally discovering her husband 's affair .

On Reddit 's Cleaning Tips forum, user @mioraa shared a post about how everything in her house started turning green.

"First it was just my cat, then it became my sheets, my feet (which later stained my shoes and socks), my couch, my phone charger, and now my wall," she said in her message.

The OP then asked if anyone knew what it was or how to get rid of it.

At first he thought it was mold, but then added: "...now I think my detergent pods are green. But I did a wash and dry test and it didn't discolor my clothes until I wore them around the house for a few hours before it turned green.

In the post, the user also shared photos of her cats, with one of them covered in the green substance, as well as her wall and sheets.

Reddit users responded in the comments sharing their various thoughts and theories.

One person wrote: "Why just one cat versus both? I feel like this must be some kind of clue...does one have something or go somewhere that the other doesn't that would differentiate the source? »

"Are your cats indoor cats or do they have access to industrial or cleaning equipment that may be stored in your garage, closet or laundry room?" another person asked.

Some have also suggested that dark fabric could be the cause as there could be color transfer from the sheets.

But there was one particular response that proved crucial in unraveling the cause: "Or maybe just buy some new jeans from Old Navy? Haha, they make stains everywhere."

The OP responded by saying that she and her husband "don't wear jeans."

Then a follow-up poster joked, "Imagine finding out he's having an affair with a woman wearing Old Navy because the cat has turned green!"

OP then jokingly replied that she would check her husband's bank statements to see if he had purchased jeans from the brand.

It took a few weeks for the OP to post an update saying they had had her water and AC checked, replaced her sheets with beige, and did a mold inspection, which didn't make much of a difference.

He then responded to Old Navy's previous comment, admitting that he "laughed nervously" when he saw it and that he had checked their shared bank account, but no purchases had been made from the brand.

However, the OP "couldn't shake this strange feeling" and revealed that she "already suspected a possible affair," citing "several last-minute overtime shifts" as well as "general changes in behavior."

She also noted that her husband had cheated on her before and because of that she had "always felt a little insecure." When she read Old Navy's comment, she "scrolled through" her husband's Instagram account and saw "sexy DMs." from a woman in jeans," although she can't confirm if it's Old Navy.

After this revelation, the OP decided to take her cat to her parents' house and is considering divorcing her husband.

Elsewhere in the Reddit thread, it's about things "men do that are really scary," and an evicted tenant takes away her entire yard, which infuriates her landlord.
