For those of us with busy schedules, keeping our homes clean and tidy can sometimes be low on the priority list.
It seems like there aren't enough hours in the day to do everything we need, but a crowded room can only increase stress.
The idea of the "Sunday Reset" is gaining popularity on social media, where you spend a few hours on the last day of the week cleaning the house in preparation for a new day.
However, this is simply not possible for many people, and who wants to spend time cleaning when they could be resting or spending time with loved ones?
Luckily, one woman on TikTok has cracked the code on how to keep your space clean and tidy, and it only takes a few minutes a day.
Lifestyle influencer Leah Pagel , a self-proclaimed "former messy girl" with more than 82,000 followers, says there are some simple tips that are "truly life-changing" when it comes to maintaining a clean home.
And they're not drastic either: they're more focused on small habits you can adopt every day to prevent too much damage from accumulating.
One of her tips is to take just five minutes at the end of each day to "turn off" the home before bed.
It can be as simple as fluffing the couch cushions, putting away the dishes, and cleaning the bathroom sink—any small, manageable task that doesn't require a lot of time.
She says it eliminates the need to spend an entire Sunday doing a "reset" and gives you more time to do the things you really want to do.
In a TikTok video, she said, "Instead of waiting until Sunday to clean everything, take 5 to 10 minutes at the end of each day to do a 'finishing shift.'
"There's nothing better than waking up to a clean house! And it seems a lot easier to manage than a big weekly reset."
Another super simple but effective habit to adopt in 2025 that could really help you keep your home tidy is to use your time cooking wisely.
Leah suggested, "Boiling water?" Empty the dishwasher. Pizza in the oven? Add a load of laundry.
Presenting her breakfast, she continued, "I make this bowl of yogurt every morning and empty the dishwasher when the frozen berries thaw in the microwave."
"That's a minute of my day that I would have wasted anyway."
