Tips preparation kit "Spring Cleaning"

Phil Burns / American Preppers Network (New York) - The words "spring cleaning" may conjure up images of sparkling kitchen countertops and cabinets without dust, but there is another part of your life that could use a broom, according to experts emergency planning.

It's time to clean your emergency kit.

"We recommend that you do this every six months, and basically defines it as a tradition," said Phil Jackson of the American Preppers Network, which is advice on how to make sure your computer has up to date. "At Easter and Halloween is when I reset all my bugout kits."

Pocket "bugout" said the members of the survival groups, this is the bag that can be recovered if we contingency reserves, wear up to 72 hours.

The bag should have the food supply, including granola bars rack, milk powder, dry, dehydrated soups, or freeze-dried foods and water treatment systems or water, clothing and shelter, such as tents and blankets. Medical care and basic tools are also useful.

The semi-annual examination is a good time to pull and replace the expired food, Jackson said, and see if someone suggested reserves and the need to be replenished.

"Every time I inventory I find a bag that was slightly attacked by a granola bar or so I have a list of the shares of the children, a list of adult bag, bags and other specialties," she said.

"Even some medical equipment, if needed, and you capture is in a bag. I have a checklist and inventory is important for what you expect it to be there," there.

Create a list of supplies for the children, this is a good time to practice the emergency plan with them, Jackson said.

"In our house we have a plan to do so if there is something wrong in the house, be it a fire or go home and open the door and see how someone does not recognize there. We support evacuation plan," he said.

"Take a drill with the kids when you change bags, and so every six months, you go through your plans and fresh in the minds of the exercises," he said.

Normal people should have supplies on hand to the environment in which they find themselves correspond, Jackson said. So the townspeople have different teams who live near the mountains, and the people who live in places with extreme summer and winter their equipment in order to update the needs of the next season, as drinking kits or lighters.

It is also a good time to update and corrugated sheets of personal information with the names of family members of state and their contact numbers that can be contacted in an emergency.

More importantly, Jackson said, is to ensure that basic survival skills are updated.

"You can very easily lose a skill, especially when it comes to how one comes as a particular type of injury dress. If you have not used in a year or two, it will not be there," he says.

"The most valuable training tool when it comes to disaster preparedness, is your brain. So the change in the physical environment, but also be sure to update your brain," he said.
