Iceland starts the SPI Cares campaign

SOUTHERN ISLAND: As more companies open, cities continue to promote security measures to ensure that the public remains protected from the corona virus.

The city of South Padre Island has announced it will launch its SPI Cares campaign on Monday.

A city press release said the campaign shares the search for safe practices by local businesses on the island, including cleaning and standards from the state of Texas and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, which is encouraging to employees and visitors Wear masks for the foreseeable future during the summer season and apply social distance and regular hygiene.

As part of this effort, local businesses were encouraged to commit to SPI Cares and the safety of customers and employees.

"To inform visitors of the ongoing commitment to health and wellbeing during the reopening of tourism, the City of South Padre Island and the Convention and Visitors Bureau are asking local businesses to contact" SPI care! "Campaign," says the press release.

Participants receive vinyl stickers that are clearly displayed when they register at their company.

The program runs in conjunction with the Island Recovery message, "So Safe, So Healthy, So Father."

In addition to launching the initiative, city officials and the congress visitor's office worked with the county health department to provide ongoing information on good washing, cleaning, and disinfecting tips. Hands, says the press release.
