To repair a chip, get a cleaner suitable for granite (and a bowl of soap, water, a microfiber cloth, and a clean water rinse), tape, superglue or clear epoxy , a razor blade, and fine-grit sandpaper. Clean and dry the area, then place tape around the chip to make it easier to find, such as by blocking off the affected area. Fill the chip with epoxy or glue until it is flush with the countertop surface and allow to dry for 24 hours (or longer, depending on the epoxy curing instructions). If excess glue bubbles onto the work surface, scrape it off with a utility knife and then gently sand the area with fine sandpaper to smooth it out. Remove dust from sandpaper.
Alternatively, if your countertop is a darker color, a clear sealer will show through. Using a diamond-tipped drill, drill in an inconspicuous area (such as under the counter) to collect a teaspoon of granite dust. Mix it with the glue and continue as above.
Another option is to use a repair kit called Light Cure Acrylic , a food-safe and non-toxic option. After cleaning the surface and filling it with the included acrylic syringe, place a curing strip over the area and then cure the area for five to seven minutes using an included blue LED light. Remove the curing strip, then sand and polish.
