School holidays start today and your home will look more like a home for the whole family than ever before. Whether you miss the work or not, here are some tips for maximizing family time and minimizing expenses.

Travel abroad

It is possible that some parents have booked their flight and accommodation in advance to save money. However, traveling abroad requires additional costs and additional planning can save you from unforeseen costs.

Before traveling, find out what the weather is like in the country you are visiting and whether there are political or health problems in the country that could affect your travel. An online search helps you to quickly grasp these facts.

If the weather forecast is rainy, bring a raincoat and covered shoes for your children as well as a small umbrella. Be sure to inform a family member or friend about how to contact you in case of emergency on holiday.

Take with you a small amount of medication that you may need, such as: Panadol or diarrhea medications if you do not control the drug brands in that country.

Remember to also keep notifications of all known allergies if you need to see a doctor to get treatment. If you can not find a toilet or washbasin, always bring your children hand sanitizer gels to keep out germs.

If you are prepared for this, you can limit your travel expenses instead of paying extra for the purchase of medicines, umbrellas, or anything else that is not normally required and that you do not normally need.

Stay home for the holidays.

If you do not have the budget for a trip abroad, you can spend a holiday at home. Leave your office and enjoy your vacation home with lots of fun, economical and creative ideas to keep your kids busy and active.

Go to the Beach: A picnic on the beach is always a great source of fun for children, with endless opportunities for kitesurfing, seafood gathering, and building sand castles.

Pick a beach, prepare a large picnic basket, and make sure you have enough water to clean up by refilling recycled water bottles or large plastic water bottles and placing them in the trunk.

Upon returning home, children can rinse off the sand and salt water before getting in the car. Remember: Do not forget to bring sunscreen and dispose of your trash properly!

Visit our public attractions: Take a walk with the children to the Royal Regalia Museum or Bandar Ecopark. Admission is free! Alternatively, you can take a day trip to Seria or Kuala Belait and go to the Oil and Gas Discovery Center (OGDC), which offers many fun activities for children with minimal entry fees. ,

Remember to pack tissue paper and hand sanitizer gels that your children can use in case they need to go to the bathroom. Drive safely on long journeys and follow road safety regulations.

Enjoy activities or a movie night at home: children like to stay awake for a long time. But instead of making their own games, such as video games, they gather the whole family in board games or a home cinema evening. There are several table games that you and your family can use to make your stay at home entertaining and exciting. Family games give you a great opportunity to discover things you've never known about your family.

If you're planning a movie night, consider a good movie that appeals to the whole family, and try to make your snacks healthy. Raw vegetables and vegetable dressing, and fruit juice instead of soft drinks.

Organize a pajama party: Invite your kids' best friends to a pajama party. Your kids will have fun and it's also a great way to make sure your kids continue to have healthy social relationships. They may even lose their best friends from school during the holidays and they will love the opportunity to catch up.

Keep healthy snacks such as egg sandwiches, fruit and juices at hand. Remember, give your children and their friends privacy, but check it from time to time. Take care of healthy cleaning habits like brushing and washing at bedtime. Establish a strict rule at bedtime to maintain discipline.

Do not forget to spend your vacation plans wisely and to respect the budget you set.
