Repair is a fun hobby that can boost your confidence while helping the environment at the same time. When a kitchen appliance stops working, it is often a headache to buy a new one or find someone who can fix it. You probably want a quick, inexpensive way to cook, bake, and clean as usual. We have quick and easy tips to help you keep your kitchen appliances in good shape. Not only will this challenge you to learn new skills; It will also be nice to know that you've created something new again.

dishwasher

Ease of cleaning can solve many of the most common dishwasher problems, such as dirty dishes. If you haven't cleaned the device in a while, try locating the filter and spray arm to get started.

In standard dishwashers, the filter is usually a removable cylinder located at the bottom of the machine. To avoid clogging and to protect your dishwasher, you should clean it once a month with a sponge, an old cloth or an old toothbrush.

The spray arm is also located at the bottom near the filter. Make sure it spins properly, then unscrew it by turning it clockwise. Pick it up and look for the rubble. Use an old toothbrush to clean the main part. Use a wire to clean the small holes.

Refer to your user manual for the correct way to remove these two parts as this may vary. Have you lost the instructions? Try looking for it online.

Toaster

If you are having trouble operating your toaster, or if you smell something burned when you turn it on, you may need to clean it as many toasters stop working due to small parts.

The first step is to unplug the toaster and let it cool down. Then look inside for bits of food that may have fallen on the floor and blocking the carriage lever. Hold your toaster over a compost bin to see if the bread and crumbs fall off naturally. If they are stuck, use a thin wooden or rubber device, such as a small ball, to hold them. B. a spatula to carefully remove the pieces of food. You can also blow out the food with compressed air. They know it's clean when the lever is gently moved up and down. Some toaster models have a large crumb tray at the bottom that can be slid out or unlocked. Once a week, clean this container by removing it and shaking the crumbs in your compost bin.

If these tips don't work, check the outlets with an outlet tester or plug your toaster into a different outlet.

mixer

Overloading your blender can damage the knife and wear out the motor. Be sure to cut your food into pieces small enough to fit in the bottom of your blender. If you need to mix tough foods, try a food processor instead of a blender. Blenders are generally designed for softer foods and liquids, so hard foods like potatoes or ginger root can damage them.

If the saw blade does not turn as usual, try tightening the drive pin. First disconnect the device from the mains. Then remove the bottom and set the blender aside. Find the drive shaft and grab it with pliers or a wrench. Turn the screw clockwise until it is no longer loose. If you find that the corners of the drive pin are rounded, you may need to replace it. Simply loosen and remove the old one by reversing the above instructions, then install the new one by tightening it. If your blade isn't spinning at all, you can try cleaning it thoroughly. Gently remove the blade and soak it in warm, soapy water. Scrub them with an old toothbrush, then rinse them off. Allow to dry completely, then test the blender again.

Regular cleaning is key to keeping your devices working for as long as possible. Allow time for these simple tasks as often as possible, especially if you use the device on a daily basis. If you're struggling, try the tips above or search for more repair tips online before you give up and buy something new. If you consider your equipment an investment and care for it, it should return the favor.
