Whether you're a camping enthusiast or a newbie, we've compiled our top 16 tips and tricks to make camping easier for you and want to share them with you if camping is on your summer fun list:
plan ahead
1. New to camping? Practice pitching your tent at home before you head out. Also, try sleeping on it in your garden. kids will love it.
2. Freeze pitchers or bottles of water to use in your cooler instead of using ice. The ice melts and is essentially Once unfrozen it is unusable, but the water jugs can be used to wash dishes or hands, or to drink. Or you can even save it and freeze it again for next time!

Be practical in storage
3. Use a plastic cake stand to store paper plates. They stay neat and practical and don't fly away.
4. Put a cheap shoe organizer up a tree (an old belt makes this easy) and fill it with the things you need to keep handy like sunscreen, bug spray, kitchen supplies, etc.

5. Prepare at least some of your meals at home for easier heating and eating.
6. Do you enjoy scrambled eggs or even French toast for breakfast while camping? Wipe out an empty plastic jug, remove the label and add the beaten eggs. You can even mark the container with the approximate number of eggs in 2-egg increments, making it easy to pour out what you need. It's much easier to keep in the cooler than in a carton of fresh eggs!
7. Pancakes? Similar idea to the scrambled egg tip. Wash out a ketchup squeeze bottle, make your pancake mix ahead of time and store in your cooler.
8. Wash and dry fruits and vegetables before leaving. Take it one step further and cut them off before you leave as well. Store your cut fruits and vegetables in your cool box.

Makes cleaning easier
9. Have an empty laundry soap dispenser ready. After washing and rinsing, fill it with water to make hand washing easier. You can even have several: one with some dish soap additive to dispense soapy water and another with just water to rinse your hands and dishes.
Make sure the kids are entertained
10. Keep the kids busy with a scavenger hunt. You can put it together little by little or print out something you find online to make a fun activity that adults can enjoy too.
11. If you have small children, take a small paddling pool with you. It's easy to fill with a few inches of water for camping and cooling down, and doubles as a bathtub when needed.
12. Bubbles! Always pack air bubbles. It's quick and easy entertainment when hanging out at camp or hiking with the kids.

13. Keep the bugs away by throwing some sage on the campfire.
14. Toss your cellphone in an empty plastic cup for a quick and easy way to turn it into a speakerphone.
15. Unexpected rain? Ponchos can be made from large garbage bags in no time at all by cutting holes if necessary.
16. Always pack a roll of duct tape. It has many uses and will always come in handy.
