Removing stubborn stains from clothing, bedding, and furniture can be a daunting and costly task.

However, a cleaning expert has found a solution to save time, money and effort.

Hazel Mackenzie has revealed a cleaning tip to get deep stains out of duvets - and it'll only cost you £1.50.

Cleaning expert Scotty Cleaners shared a video on the company's TikTok account, @theweescottycleaners, on March 10.

The footage, which has now received more than 11,000 views and 18 comments from excited fans, is captioned: "2-in-1 duvet removes stains and cleans your washing machine."

In the clip, a white duvet can be seen with a large orange-brown stain on one side.

Hazel put the duvet in an empty washing machine and said: "They gave us a very dirty duvet and you can see spills everywhere."

The cleaning expert then pulls out a bottle of Vanish, which she says she can spray directly onto the stain on the duvet.

Hazel recommended applying a generous amount and allowing the liquid to "soak" into the stain before revealing the key product, which not only speeds up the stain removal process but also serves as a cleaning tool for the washing machine.

He continued, "This product works wonders in maintaining your machine and also removing stains."

Hazel then points the camera at the key product: a 500g can of Duzzit Amazing Baking Soda, which is selling at The Range for just £1.49.

Then select the 60 degree "Heavy Duty" option on your washing machine to remove the stain from the duvet.

After two hours of washing, Hazel returns to the washing machine and produces a bright white duvet, free of any stains.

She said: "This stain has completely disappeared. And do you know what we use? Some Vanish spray directly on it and also some baking soda.

"You can put it [the baking soda] in your drawer or directly in your drum."

Hazel added, "It's baking soda, and it's exactly the same as baking soda," before lifting the duvet again and repeating, "It's still as white as white."

In response to more questions from fans in the comments, Hazel explained that she used half a cup of baking soda in her Cater-kwik washing machine.

This comes after the cleaning expert recently revealed a way to recreate the effect of dry cleaning using a specific setting on her own Beko washing machine , which she recommended to viewers.
