JACKSON, Tenn. — Spring is here, which usually means warm weather and flowers and maybe even time for a little cleaning.
Star Hansen, a certified professional organizer, wants to help others get started with spring cleaning.
Hansen said clutter can often be used as a means of communication and some people feel safe with items piled up.
She said to start with two rooms at a time, like the closet or the desk, and then take your time moving to the next room.
"Another good thing for you would be to do this spring cleaning, maybe not with the heavy feeling of I have to clean my whole house, but which room can I focus on this month and then clean a different room every month?" . Give yourself that flexibility and think of spring cleaning as the start of a cleaner, more organized home," Hansen said.
Hansen also advised parents to let their children take part in the cleanup.
