Cleansing can be therapeutic. When you have the right soundtrack and attitude. But we probably all agree that cleaning the bathroom is the worst.

It's always a little disgusting, you have to use the most intense cleaning products and that takes more and more time.

If you live with roommates or a partner, definitely pull the straw out when it's your week to clean the bathroom.

A raffle study found that more than a quarter of Britons (28%) spend 470 days cleaning their lives. This corresponds to 34 days of two-week vacation. Depressing.

Unsurprisingly, nearly 40% say they hate bathroom cleaning more than anywhere else.

More than a quarter (27%) said the second area they hated for cleaning was the exterior, especially gutters, windows, and using the pressure washer.

The easiest room for the British to clean was actually the dining room, and only 1% of them said they hated cleaning this room more than anyone else.

What room in the house do people hate cleaning the most?

Bathroom - 37.7%

Outside (gutters, windows, etc.) - 27.2%

Cooking - 22.3%

Rooms - 7.9%

Lounge - 3.8%

Dining room - 1.1%

Here's how to make cleaning your bathroom faster and easier

Using basic products like baking soda and vinegar can speed up your cleaning routine, remodel your equipment, and prevent you from using harmful chemicals.

You likely have these ingredients in the back of a cabinet. Take them out and do your most hated chores this week:

To clean the bathroom

Tired of scrubbing the toilet every other day? Do this task every two weeks and you don't have to:

Add white vinegar to the tank and bowl.

Start rubbing it.

Then dip some paper towels in the vinegar and leave them under the toilet threshold.

After 15 minutes, remove the paper towel and rinse it off.

Not only does this get rid of bad smells and keep the colon clean, but all without the use of harsh chemicals.

Better still, the vinegar cleans the tank every time it rinses.

Clog the sink

Pour a cup of baking soda into the sink.

Let stand for 1 hour.

Boil 3 cups of white vinegar and pour it into the sink.

The blistering helps remove any accumulated dirt.

Wash the windows

For a shiny, streak-free shine, spray the glass with your normal cleaning spray.

Then, wipe off any excess moisture with a kitchen towel. Don't push too hard.

Finally, use a coffee filter to buff your windows. The filter absorbs the spray and makes your windows sparkle.

Make sure to wear gloves when doing this so your fingers don't smell like coffee.

Tips to speed up other hated tasks

Besides the bathroom, there are a lot of other household chores that we just can't do.

According to a raffle poll, our list of our most hated tasks includes cleaning the oven, ironing, washing and drying dishes.

Here are some tips to help you complete these nasty tasks in record time:

Clean the oven

To remove stubborn stains, mix white wine vinegar and baking soda into a paste.

Spread in the oven and on the glass door.

Let it sit for at least 30 minutes, but ideally overnight.

Finally, clean it up and you have a shiny oven free of any accumulated food debris.

Iron

Remove the cover from the ironing board and spread aluminum foil on the board.

Put the cover back on.

The film now reflects the heat to the bottom of the clothing and acts as a second iron, which cuts the ironing time in half.

Wash / dry dishes

If you only wash the dishes in a specific order, you should be able to change the water in the dishes less frequently during the task.

You save time, water and energy.

Start with glasses - they will dry faster and have fewer water stains if you wash them while the water is hotter.

Then the cutlery comes before it goes to the dishes.

Leave very dirty things like pots and pans until the last time.
