Tips for winter cleaning to beautify your living space

While keeping our homes clean and tidy all year round is important, this winter is even more important.

It's safe to say that this year we have put a lot of love and care into our homes. Indeed, some might argue that our sanctuaries as a whole have never been more racy and expansive.

But in winter it can be a little difficult to keep everything in good shape. Whether it's cloudy with no natural light to see spots and dirt, or just general fatigue.

However, in the countdown to Christmas with our houses with lots of decorations on display, we have to improve our actions and put as much energy into renovating our furniture as we have in our festive flair.

We have put together a Chrimbo… checklist so that you can make the most of the holiday season.

Upgrade the front door
Ding dong! The bells may ring happily upstairs, but what about the front door?

"The exterior of our homes is often the poor relative of interior design and can make everything else wear you," says Helen Shaw, marketing manager at Benjamin Moore Paint. Clean windows
You are about to decorate colored lights in your pots and put your precious Christmas tree in the window. So it's worth cleaning the glass before putting it on (or even after). They already exist!).

For best streak-free results, mix 1 part distilled vinegar with 10 parts warm water in a bucket or spray bottle. Wipe from top to bottom, rinse and dry with a microfiber cloth or paper towel.

Freshen up the sofa or invest in a chic one
There is a chance that you have become addicted to television through no fault of your own in the past few months. All of those Netflix and Deliveroos nights likely wreaked havoc on your couch. Hygiene of your home office
When you work from home, keyboards are known to be a hotspot for bacteria and the spread of germs. Hence, it is important to get used to cleaning your laptop regularly. Be sure to use a disinfectant wipe that kills at least 99.9% of germs, and remember to wash your hands regularly to avoid cross-contamination.

Clean table lamps
We all love mood lighting, but it's easy to miss dust build-up on the curtains and on the top of the base. Roll a sticky lint roller over the screen to remove the dust (they are also great for removing pet hair from upholstery) and buff the base with a soft cloth. You can put tinsel around your neck.
