I'm a neat freak, but I never spend more than five minutes cleaning my son's room.

Keeping children's rooms clean and tidy can often seem like a never-ending task.

But one mom found a clever way to make it a simple process that takes under five minutes each time.

Em, who describes herself as an "order freak," is a mother to a six-year-old girl and told us, "I don't like things being out of place, but I will never spend 5 minutes giving my granddaughter a room ordered." .

First, Em, who shares his cleaning tips on his Crazy Cleaning Crawford Instagram page , suggests using IKEA Kallax storage in your kids' rooms.

"All of my daughters' toys have a Kallax insert," she explained.

"We have one for Barbies, Sylvanian families, Barbie house accessories, doll clothes and more.

"When he plays, he takes one out and then it's all about putting it back together and putting the stake back in."

It also uses storage boxes for books under the bed, which means you can grab them from the floor and put them in the box under the bed.

For stuffed animals, Em suggests using a laundry basket.

"We have a huge laundry basket for teddy bears and stuffed animals," she said.

"Whoever is on the ground will be thrown there.

"It's in the corner, so it's easy to nudge her across the room!"

And Em's final suggestion is to encourage children to participate.

"When it comes to the order, we make a game out of it," he said.

"3, 2, 1, who can win faster and she loves it, especially when I let her win!"

If you follow these simple rules, the floor will always be clean.

"It gives me a quick hoover during the day while she's at school without having to pick things up first," explains Em.

"It just makes life a little easier."
