The Best Cleaning Hacks
  • Soak a paper towel in scented sanitizer and place it under the black bag at the bottom of the bin to keep it smelling fresher for longer.
  • Buy washable paint if you have small ones at home; That means it's a breeze to remove heavy play marks or scratches.
  • Make it easy to keep the fridge sparkling clean by washing the salad drawers in the dishwasher and using a cotton swab to remove any dirt or dust that has become lodged in the rubber seal.
  • Also, consider lining your salad drawers with paper towels to make it easier to dispose of any leftover veggies that might come out of your weekly stash.
  • After vacuuming, don a rubber glove and rub the carpet to quickly pick up any remaining hair (although a pet-specific hair cleanser or a dustpan and rubber-bristled brush are much more effective for a deep clean).
  • For small wet areas, consider moisture absorbers as an alternative to dehumidifiers, which can be expensive to run. Using a damp grout can also help hide discoloration effectively before decorating with fresh paper or paint.
  • Keep your central heating in good working order and save money on your energy bills by flushing your radiators with a wrench at least twice a year.
  • If you have prepared a dish with a lot of starch or dairy products, such as B. Meatloaf, soak it in cold water and liquid dish soap instead of hot water like you would with other dishes. The cold water reacts with the ingredients to help remove them from the cookware.
  • Add a drop of laundry sanitizer when washing clothes in low or cold temperatures to save on energy bills; This liquid ensures that germs are killed without having to switch to an option set to 30 degrees or higher.
