Cleaning expert shares 30p tip for removing tough stains from clothes, even white ones

Baking soda and vinegar are often hailed as household saviors, but Deyan Dimitrov, CEO of Laundryheap , has a touch of lemon for laundry stains .

He suggests replacing the usual combination of baking soda and vinegar with lemons, as "pure" lemon juice can brighten dull whites and eliminate stubborn stains without damaging delicate materials.

It even works on grease and grease stains, which are notoriously difficult to remove from clothing, especially white shirts.

But lemon juice can fight more than just fatty foods and oil spills. This pungent fruit also works against other stains from tomato juice, watermelon and similar watery substances.

Deyan said: "As a cost-effective alternative to expensive stain removers, mix one-third cup of lemon juice with two-thirds water in a container. »

He continues: "Put your clothes in the solution and let them soak for half an hour. »

To "fix boring clothes," Deyan recommended adding a small amount of freshly squeezed juice to the washing machine.

Simply add a cup of lemon juice to your wash cycle to keep clothes soft and fluffy. It even imparts a pungent aroma without the artificial chemicals that irritate sensitive skin.
