A BEAUTY fan shared a quick trick for cleaning makeup brushes and sponges in the washing machine.

The trick comes weeks after an influencer revealed her genius for cleaning makeup brushes with a wire mesh.

And now another unlikely kitchen device is helping beauty lovers around the world to clean their brushes in no time.

Earlier this month, TikTok user @malsabena released a sub-video titled "How To Clean Brushes With Little Effort" that was viewed almost 30,000 times.

In the short clip, she shared five simple steps to get her beauty blenders and brushes without getting her hands dirty.

First, Malaika put her dirty brushes and sponges in an old pillow case.

Then she covered her beauty products with a pinch of washing up liquid, a cup of fabric softener and half a cup of detergent powder.

To ensure that the brushes did not fall off, they tied the open end of the pillowcase into a knot and put it in the washing machine with the "lowest turn and time".

Malaika let the machine work and explained that her brushes and blenders should look like new.

Though it's no better for people with sensitive skin to try, Malaika calmed other beauty fans' thoughts when they asked if the process would harm their brushes.

An affected user asked, "I'm afraid water will clog the brush and let the bristles fall off the brush."

Malaika replied reassuringly: "I used brushes from Primark, Amazon and Wilkco and they are still intact.

"Depends on the machine itself and the lowest speed + time setting" (sic).
