A cleaning fan decided to give him a fluffy pink wash and a ribbon in the bathroom, and the results shocked him.

Laura Layton decided it was time to get on her carpet and jumped into the bathroom with Zoflora.

Laura filled her bathtub with hot water and poured a quarter bottle of disinfectant with baking soda.

He let it soak overnight and when he came back the water was almost black with all the dirt hidden in the carpet.

After washing and drying it, Laura said it looked like a new carpet and shared her method of making it look new.

He posted photos before and after in the Facebook group Cleaning tips from Ms. Hinch New , who said: "I have received many comments saying that it makes my carpet smell or shrink like a wet dog ...

"Well, I'm glad to say that none of the above events have taken place.

"It smells amazing! I used tropical zoflora and bicarb and now it looks like a new carpet."

And Laura explained her method step by step, adding, "I put it in a hot bath with just over 1/4 of a bottle of Zoflora (I used a tropical scent) and lots of baking soda." Soda and I went overnight.

"Then I put him in the shower in the morning and rinsed him off."

The results, however, were not immediate as he admitted that the drying process had taken several days.

Hundreds of people thanked him for his advice and said they would soak their own carpets.

Laura added, "So I had to put it in the garage because of the rain, but as soon as the sun rose, it went out.

"It took about two days to dry."

The transformation has been enjoyed over 700 times because people said they would try it themselves.
