Tips for implementing these "rainy day" projects

JOHNSON CITY (WBNG) - If you're trapped indoors and out of things to do, this may be a good time to complete those "rainy day" projects you've sat on.

12 News spoke to Chris Wurth, owner of Decluttering Chaos LLC, about his cleaning process for parts that have been postponed.

They say choose a single room first, not the whole house.

If it's a larger room, you might start with a corner or a half. Choosing a room that is too big to clean will likely make you feel overwhelmed and just won't.

"The first thing you want to do is first go in a trash can and pick up anything you know you don't need, like cans or soda bottles or something like that," Wurth said.

They say they should walk around the room clockwise in a villa and find out what may have stayed behind the stands or just the chaos they don't need.

Another tip is to put some boxes marked "KEEP, DISCARD, DONATE or RECYCLE" aside.

If you take small steps at a time, you will see first results and feel better when your home gets messy.
